Forums - Politics Discussion - Hillary Clinton's memoir - it was Everyone Else Fault I lost...

She just needs to stop running. She's obviously NOT going to win. She's not as popular as she believes herself to be.

Yep, sure Hillary... it was the fault of Russia / the "Alt Right" that she didn't have states like Wisconsin on her campaign schedule as the candidates were getting to the home stretch, where she only campaigned in big city areas with a bunch of celebrities in tow because she couldn't fill a bingo hall by herself.

She is unequivocally the worst candidate in history for losing what should've been a slam-dunk election, and all the millions of people who voted for her who felt she got robbed by the Electoral College can go pound sand.

Fun fact for those saying all elections should be based on overall popular vote rather than electoral representatives from each state... Hillary actually got more total votes than Obama did in the 2008 primaries, so if we were operating on a popular vote system for both primaries and general elections, we never would've had the past 8 years of Obama whom Democrats now worship as the 2nd coming of Jesus lol!

More people voted for her, but unfortunately, it wasn't in the areas that counted the most. Hilary was never the best democratic candidate though, she was the only choice to keep Trump out of the White House, that is all. Her calling Trump voters "deplorables" was NOT a good call. She should have been running a platform to appeal to as many Americans as possible.

But, enough already. She's a two-time loser

The parties aren't government institutions so they can have whatever rules they want to during their primaries (hence why some use superdelegates and other methods besides popular vote).  The electoral college is obviously a flawed, outdated system which was founded on voters being ignorant (which they still are) because back then news didn't really travel that fast.  Now it travels too fast.

Just makes me more relieved she isn't our president. Weak, corrupt, and full of excuses. Not to mention a globalist shill who cozies up to big banks and Wallstreet while acting like she actually gives a crap about the people. Not the sort of person I want leading. I very much wanted Bernie over the egotistical buffoon Trump, but at the same time if I had to chose between Trump and crooked Hillary, as the Democrats have sadly forced me to do, I go with Trump.

Yea with Trump at least he makes it perfectly clear that he is in the presidency to futher enrich himself, his family, and rich "friends" through tax cuts aimed mainly at rich and not middle class and getting rid of the estate tax.

It has been almost a year after she lost and she still has no sense of self-accountability...

And I'm not going to hold my breath on her getting some any time in her life

I just want her out of the limelight so the Democrats can find a better person for 2020. Can Republicans also run in 2020? I dont know the rules of second term

Yes, Trump gets to run for re-election in 2020 if he chooses to. If he doesn't choose to, the Republican party will elect another candidate. Only a handful of Presidents chose not to run for a 2nd term however.

The Republicans can still run Primary candidates against Trump in the runup to the 2020 election even if he is seeking a 2nd term.  Generally speaking this almost never happens with the incumbent party unless the president is unpopular or factions within the party are split with the president.  Ted Kennedy famously ran against incumbent Jimmy Carter in the 1980 primares, and Ronald Reagan ran against then-incumbent Gerald Ford in the 1976 primaries before he secured the nomination and the presidency 4 years later.  Since then we haven't really seen a serious challenge to an incumbent president within his own party.

I can see Trump being primaried in 2020 if his popularity remains below 40% in most polls.  Will definitely be interesting times because I'm sure the Democrats will be pushing towards a more progressive / social justice platform, and we will see a clash of the far-left vs the establishment wings of the party even moreso that what we saw with Bernie vs Hillary last year.
