Forums - Sales Discussion - Global Weekly, 22nd July 2017. Hardware and Software

Nice, 1 million+ for Splatoon first week. Crash is also doing pretty well, I wonder how many sales that game will end up with.

Splatoon 2 did well more than double the original did in it's first week and on a much smaller install base too. With the legs this game is known for I can see it doing 10 mil+ lifetime.

Wii U hit 14m thanks to rounding. Will it be able to stay ahead of Switch for a full year?

Well, it's overtracked, because with rounding it should still be like 13.6, not 14.0

You know, does Crash's sales figures finally show that console exclusives sell and that people who say exclusives are dead need to stop talking?

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

Dem Splatoon and Switch sales. Not surprising tho.
ARMS has now outsold 1-2 Switch
KH 1.5+2.5 is now at 700k. I hope FFXII remaster reaches 1 million.

Thank goodness.

Uncharted 4, Horizon and Zelda didn't do that already?

Nah Uncharted only sold because bundles. Zelda was the only game to get worthwhile during launch. And the amount of hype Horizon got makes every game sell great ;).

This post is sarcastic

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I wouldn't say that the Splatoon franchise is known for its legs. It's only the second game. The situation is totally different now, so we can't just assume the sales pattern will be the same as the first game's.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe that this game will sell very well, but I don't think that its legs will be particularly better than other Switch games.

Nice opening for Spla2n, should become another evergreen Switch title.

Breath of the Wild passes Horizon (again) to become the best selling game of 2017.

Time for Horizon to cut its price again. ;)

I wonder if Splatoon 2 will hav the legs of the first game.

Vgc'z hardware for July (in the US):
8th :  44,6k NiS
15th:  49,5k NiS
22nd:  87k NiS

= total of 181k NiS

and we know from NPD it ends up at:
222k Switch

Is it overtracked? or does it do like 35-40k next week?
