I know a while back, people were defending Sony's decision to prohibit external HDD support. The argument was that it looked ugly, invited piracy, changing out the internal HDD was better, and it possibly caused ghosts to inhabit the console. All legit reasons.

Well, has your opinion changed? I'm currently rocking 4TB of storage (2 in, 2 out) and it feels pretty sweet. Pretty pretty sweet.

"and it possibly caused ghosts to inhabit the console"

Whats that?

Can I use the external HDD on the PS4 as well as on my PC? Can it be NTFS formatted? I need to use it on my pc as well and it needs to support big files.

No. Too much of a hassle. Has to be formatted and there cant be games installed on anyway.

Just seeing if you're paying attention.

To my knowledge, it only expands your storage on a single PS4.

I have been using it. I have a 4TB Samsung Evo SSD internal, and a 5TB Segate External. I am keeping all of the VR stuff internal, and any game I am playing currently. Otherwise, the rest is sitting on the external.

I really wish we could hold pictures, videos, and music on the drive. I had about a gig in a half of content I on the external. Then the update made you choose between the games and the other content. So now I am back to Spotify only for music, and if I want to look at any family videos or photos, it has to happen on the PS3.

Hopefully in the future Sony will finally allow us to store all data on either internal or external drives.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. I'm not using it on PS4 yet. I'm sure I will at some point though. I've been using on XB1 for a couple of years now, and like it quite a bit. It is nice to have more storage. It is also nice to use a faster drive than the OEM one.

I'm managing fine with 1TB internal,
