I get my water from some strange mechanism called a tap.

I know there's areas that drink mineral water which springs forth from the ground; I had some at the Roman baths of... Bath, and it was pretty good despite being mud brown lol

Otherwise, plenty of islands are increasingly dependent on desalination for their water (I have a friend who's made a company and career of providing that for people across the globe, with demand ever increasing). Otherwise, the coolest sources of water I've seen are the various different plants/bamboo shoots and such that you can slice into and suck water out of.

Ground water.

1. Drill hole 50-100 m deep, 40-70 mm in diameter
2. Install pipe the entire lenght of the hole
3. Connect pipe to pump (manual or motorised)
4. Pump up water
5. Drink water and hope it's not high on poisonous elements like arsenic

Possble point 4,5 before drinking water send to test lab to se if water is siutable for human consumption.

In the Netherlands we can't drink tap water so we drink straight from our canals.

That's not even the strangest thing he's done. One time he was thirsty but he could only find salt water so he injected it into his anus.

The most amazing place where I went to get water was on the Athabasca Glacier in the Jasper National Park. The purest, coldest, most delicious thing I've ever drunk. No bottled, filtered or tapped water could ever come this close since then. You just had to find a little leak and dip your bottle in it to enjoy Heaven's rain.

My water comes from the dunes or better said river water injected into the dunes so that the sand can filter most of it and minimise the need for chemical cleansing of the water.
