Thank god I moved to florida... Nevermind, it is expected to come here in a couple of days. People are already in panic mode.

Have you seen/heard how packed the Turnpike is from evacuees? It's more than panic mode.

If you can go out and film it I doubt OP is going to die.

yep, I heard about it.  I guess what happened in Houston and the news created this sense of panic too early.

Bad news! I survived. Bad grass never dies!

Nah, I am fortunate to be here considering all the people that died due to this fucking hurricane and those still in danger.

Power came yesterday but it was all very hectic and couldn't find the spare time to post up until this very moment.

I want to thank all of you that shared some level of concern for my safety and even those who just came here to crack a joke, fuck political correctness.

Water service has not returned yet, but damage was minal.

The "worst thing" that happened to my home though, this whatever-the-fuck it was appeared inside our swimming pool the following day:

This fucker was like 2.5 inches long and escaped that container the following day. I didn't even know we had those nasty things in this island.

Well on to answer some posts done before the last time I came here:

I reject any redemption bestowed by any narcissistic, junkie-for-worship, self-absorbed gods.

But somewhere in that post there may be some well-intentioned wishes so thank you for that.

You're gonna be fine. Just remember to share whatever you plunder after the marauding begins!

I only got me a water-cockroach and fallen leaves from my neighbors... :P

My sister is there in Kissimmee. Hope the damage there is minimum and no loss of life occurs. Take care.

Look, the Spiders are nothing compared to Hurricanes.

Stay safe, and if you don't:
Make sure to take that wind demon out with you!

But, yeah, stay safe please.

I don't know man, a hurricane is danger outside the safety of your fortress but those crazy spiders are intruders in the intimacy of your quarters. o.O

Thanks, everything went well for me. Lives were lost and lots of people lost a lot with this hurricane so I was one of the fortunate ones.

If you're headed for hell i'm sure i'll see you there.  I'll give you a wave as I burn.

I was gonna tell you to scream while you waved but I guess everyone will be screaming so that wouldn't help, would it? :P

I told my sister to spit from Heaven above when she got there so that I wouldn't be looking for her down in Hell anymore.

Good luck! Consider moving if you survive. Oceanic islands are death sentences.

But, but, but I like it here, and how will I enjoy the thrill of constant threat of death and long periods without access to basic human services? :(

Thanks dude! :)

Dig a hole and bury yourself while inside a sturdy container for the next couple days and you'll live.

Indiana Jones survived a nuclear explosion that way so I suppose that could work. I will try it next time for sure!

death I could live with, but months without electricity/internet is inhumane torture

stay safe, but stay where you are!

lol, nah I'm kidding, I hope that you find a safe and welcomig place to go to if you ever want to leave the island

Man, these couple of days without Internet just listening to music in my prehistoric Zune player and music videos in my phone were almost unbearable, but I pulled through!

Thanks man!

Just make sure you don't take cover in a Diner, Hurricanes are super effective on them.

Oh and good luck.

Thanks! Sorry but the "Diner" reference went over my head. ^^'

Man, good luck! I hope you and your family and friens will come out of this safe.

Pure logistic question, have you move all your furniture to a higher floor if possible?

Thanks!

We have had long periods of rain in here before and we know for certain that floods are a non-issue. There are place were floods did a number some miles from where I live though.

Thank god its missing Jamaica completely. Though we may get rain. Mathew came really close last time and just went off to Haiti and trashed over there. Sometimes the Caribbean can be really fucked up. I hope you boarded up all your windows and are above sea level.

Yeah, I am at a safe place from floods but still in danger of tsunami.

Fortunately Jose went up the fuck away.

Have to invest in one of these:

(it's the panic room in Max Payne 2)

I needed that panic room AFTER the hurricane when there was no power and water service. lol

Well I wish you luck and hopefully the damage won't be to extreme.

It wasn't, thanks!

Hey, In what area of PR do you live? I live in the south (Ponce), so the impact won't be that strong (I hope).

I live in Arecibo and we got it pretty tame here in the northwest. I only heard some "woosh" of wind and barely anything else happened. Culebra really got it bad though.

Sorry for you. Good luck to your people.

Thanks, it all went smoothly for me but the hurricane killed 3 people here in Puerto Rico.

I don't know about him, but I live in Carolina.

Irma must have felt stronger there than here in Arecibo.

Looks like it's most likely to hug the eastern coast of Florida, so my escape to my apartment in Jacksonville will probably be just step 1...

Bleh, the flooding from Matthew in Jacksonville was really bad (the water rose higher than I'd ever seen it before it even began raining and 2 days prior to the hurricane arriving). If you look at a map, Jacksonville is this unfortunate bottleneck where the east coast runs into the jutting Florida peninsula, and the very large St John's river runs straight through the center of it towards the ocean. The end result is that there's simply nowhere for all of the water to go; I remember seeing water pouring up through the manholes for weeks after the hurricane as they tried to disperse it all.

We'd only had one hurricane in Jacksonville that took place about a century ago, but now we're about to have two in two years. I may have to consider moving, as the last flood got to the upper steps leading to the front door and this one has the potential to actually flood the building, and the seawall across the street from my apartment already suffered severe damage in Matthew :(

Gonna move all my cool stuff up onto furniture and get out. In the mean time, I hope you islanders are ok!! I can't imagine what that's like; is there anywhere to go that isn't a massive flood risk?

Thanks! Irma took the lives of three people here. Bad planning done decades ago has lots of houses susceptible to floods, lots of people go to shelters only to return to their homes and see their belongings under water, really sad.

Hope you all do fine there in Florida. My sister is there too. :(

Nice that you made it out okay. I hear the smaller islands weren't so fortunate, and I hope they had successful full evacuations.

Glad to see you're ok. Now it's my turn. I live in Florida and I'll be right next to the eyes path. I have my Switch and 5 powerbanks. Perfect time to replay Breath of the Wild :)

I like your priorities : ) Just add some Lana Del Rey and bam!

You made it. I'm glad. You might have unfriended me, but I'm not holding a grudge. I've moved on. Finally found a good gluten-free bread. Taking a ventriloquism class. Got that surgery done. Lengthening AND widening. Things are pretty, pretty, good.

So glad to hear your safe :) Irma has been no joke of a Hurricane and more damage is yet to come as it hits Florida. Hope is all well. Are you guys also going to need to prepare for Jose or will that miss the Islands?

PR has very sturdy concrete houses and a nice big hurricane weakening mountain range in the middle. Not to mention US sustaina... err... support.

Irma passed north of it...
