I have my doubts that it is the best 4k experience, even on console. It's looking like most 3rd parties will be using cb and dynamic resolution techniques. So we are mainly left with exclusives and first party games. Of which the Sony exclusives like horizon, unchartered, death standing, god of war are on another level.

The XB1x is not a nasa supercomputer, or next gen, it is just a slight step up from the pro in the same way the ps4 has been over the XB1.

What it does do, is repair an almost destroyed reputation this gen, meaning it has a chance next gen, instead of being the end of Microsoft's console business. Enjoy it, but it is time to get real on the difference.

XOX is obviously the best place For 4K I'm not sure how that's even debatable. It even has a 4K drive while the other doesn't. Also it's a bigger difference than ps4vsxboxone. PS4 has a better gpu than the one but it actually has a slower CPU. The one x vs pro has a bit more of a gap.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Everyone talking about how 4K is suddenly the holy grail, meanwhile I just want a console which can play every single game at a solid 60FPS ¯_(ツ)_/¯. Both the PS4Pro and XB1X would be infinitely more interesting to me if the focus was on that instead of 4K and hopefully it will be the focus of the PS5 and whatever comes after the XB1X.

Developers will always want to max out the graphics even if it means sacrificing 60fps in favor for 30fps. It's going to be more down to whether they offer the option to tone the graphics down in favor of framerate, which some games do for the Pro. If Sony mandates developers to offer a performance mode and a graphics mode, then it should appease both sides.

Also, I think we're hitting the point of diminishing returns at 4K resolution. I remember Richard Leadbetter mentioning that it takes quite some effort to notice the difference between checkerboard 4K vs native 4K even at a close distance. Next gen, I think there will be more emphasis on other aspects like AI and physics.

This indeed will be the challenge for the next round of consoles. They need to do something else, and I dont mean TV TV TV :D but full backwards compatible 60FPS where possible, fully customised for the player, performance vs screen res as not everyone will have 4K TV....

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Amazon might wanna do something about their PS4 stock situation, they're obviously losing sales at the moment.

For console gamers the xbox one x provides the best 4K experience and is 40% more powerful than any other console. Of course the PC is far superior but we are discusing console gamers and they don't play sually on PC.

Plenty of console gamers play on PC. Also, what's "better" and what percentage differences there are doesn't negate the saying of the "True 4K Console". There's one out and one on the way.

The Pro does some "4K" but those games are small and not very demanding. All the other bigger games is always checkerboard 4K ect which is not True 4K.

I'm also wondering this???

I did a quick search on amazon US and you can get a ps4 slim for $299.

i wonder if strong preorder numbers will make up for a miserable 10 months of sales. I'm sure MS will be vocal regardless and pretend the last 10 months didn't happen

and lol about Xbox winning the next gen because X sells a few million

and Mario is doing really well, not surprising

At the end of the gen when the number of native 4k games for either is counted up, I have my doubts it will be hugely stacked XB1x way. There are plenty of games at 4k on the pro, including some of the biggest games ever made. With more to come. Not only that checkerboard and dynamic resolution stands up very well to native 4k, which is why most devs are doing it on xbox too.

The problem here is that the console warriors are imagining in their heads that every pro game is the same as a normal ps4 game. Then projecting something else over XB1x which is devoid of the reality.

There is no doubting the power gap. This gen has been fantastic across all platforms, and it has been a privilege to play all. If you can't enjoy your console without doing something insane inside your head to lessen another bit of corporate plastic, I feel genuinely sorry for you.

Well, there is Checkerboard Rendering and Native 4K, but both consoles will take advantage of those techniques. The Pro does a wonderful job at nearly masking the difference and a few articles point this out.

Thus, while the Xbox One X is a more powerful machine, and will certainly have more Native 4K games under its belt, it isn't any more a "true 4K console" than the former. Both are capable of full (3840x2160).

The Xbox one x can do checkerboard too. So it isn't just going to be 4K native vs 1440 with checkerboarding. In 1 or 2 years we will see games pushing the XOX that are 1080p-1440p with checkerboarding. At that point the pro would be pushed even further down. I'm just saying for a demand game XOX can do it too.
