Forums - Politics Discussion - Police try to arrest Uber driver for recording them, man turns out to be a lawyer

Sorry guys if you think I've been making too many threads recently But I guess I've been in a thread-making mood lately!! In any case, here's an interesting video from a few months ago that I came across:

So, an Uber driver gets pulled over, so he starts recording the situation. However, the police start telling him that he's not allowed to record them, and threaten to arrest him if he continues to do so, telling the man that an alleged "new law" prohibits it. However, the driver, being a lawyer, refuses to comply.

I remember seeing another video that was similiar to this where a guy was stopped at a checkpoint, and a police officer said "you're rights don't apply here" I find it interesting when cops say things like this, so I have seen videos of cops acting like this in the past. I like it when the person refuses to give in to their absurd demands, and they end up relenting.

What about you guys?

Since power is a corrupting thing. These kind of abuses of the "law" are unavoidable.

"Sir, you're being a jerk" Lol. As if you didn't need more justification cuz of your feelings xD

I'm glad the guy still kept his composure, same for the police guy. It could have got pretty violent.

The question is, would it have become violent if he was of a different race.  Just like the Nurse who was arrested because she would not let the officer take blood from a patient, Cops either not knowing the laws they are governed undered or just do not care can turn such situation into a deadly one.  I have seen time and again when people defend what the cop did even if death occured, it was alwasy blamed on the citizen not doing what he was asked to do even if he is in the right.  Being right and being dead is definitely something to think about when in such a situation.

I remember seeing this a while ago. Wonder why it's just now resurfacing.

There's a lot of cops who don't know the law. Period.

Just a prank bro

I saw the one where the nurse legally couldn't handover a blood sample and they arrested her. Fuck that was sad

they got all friendly like when he said he is a lawyer.

Lol, pay attention to the sherriff's body language before and after, and how at first he was right up in the guy's window and using aggressive hand signals, but after he stayed a few feet away.

So, what's police education like in the US? It sounds like cops aren't really responsible for much, so the next thing I'm wondering is education.
