Of course. That would be his answer.

But the real flaw in StarOcean's post is the assumption that everything has to end with the worst case scenario. He might as well say that all VGC members eventually get (perma)banned, and nobody is immune to that. That too would be an assumption that mismanagement is inevitable.

Well, the site is not going to stick around, so I guess the servers going down would be akin to everyone getting permabanned.

The emulation scene doesn't really count in terms of what developers consider a platform they develop for, at least for games like Pokemon where it is never intended to be ported over beyond the initial device to begin with.
