Forums - Politics Discussion - World gone mad: Father's Day ads pulled from TV for being too 'political'

Yes, more and more SJW stupidity. I say: the worst it gets, the better, keep the moronic train rolling

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Just a reminder for people joining in now:
An anti-LGBT political group, Dads4Kids, refused to put a disclaimer in an ad, as required by Australian law, clarifying they are a political group. The ad could therefore not run.

The ad would have ran with no changes with the disclaimer.
No person or group is reported as having opposed the ad, as it seemingly never ran.

The group Dads4Kids, after deleting all content from their site and social media, said they were being censored.
They got vast attention from news media and even MPs because of this.

This is marketing. Quite a few in this thread fell for it.

Doesn't matter, the usuals will just look at the title and say "SJW bullshit the end is near!" without a second of reflexion

Autralia has become a leftist hellhole.

Since they're still debating about gay marriage in 2017, they seem preety conservative to me.

Most Australians really don't care one way or the other and would happily see this pass. The only reason there is a big debate at the moment is because the opposition party knows that a chunk of the government is conservative christians who still think it is the 18th century and want it to stay that way while the other half of the government want this to pass and therefore the opposition is trying to use it to divide the government. If the the government was not split on this then it wouldn't even be up for debate from any of the major parties.

Sadly like most countries people here still try to inflict their religious views on others.

Lets see your a right winger and you further show your right wing mentality by making a big deal about something minor its  freaking TV ads most people ignore them anyway.

Both sides whine but as I said - only the left has power and gets its way. Ir you want I can give you further examples of bigger issues that the left has caused. You'd probably deny them being a big deal too though.

Meh, whatever your right wing mentality turns everything into a big deal and the ads not being show isn't a big deal.

The ad was a perfect father's day commercial. FreeTV disagreed with the commercial or the group itself. Either way they used a rule they didn't before to shut down the father's day commercial for father's day. They only had to delay it to fuck up the timing for the ad. It's a way to censor without openly doing it. None of this would have been a issue if they just played the ad. Anyone with some common sense realizes that commercials are not representive of the channel they air on and disclaimers in general are redundant.

Pissed off? That's wishful thinking right there. You mistake me on antifa. I depise the idiots who make up it's ranks and their actions. Their whole cause is pointless because there's no "fascists" around. They are just using their slogans as a justification to attack and bully people who they disagree with politically. They are bigger hypocrites than BLM. The only positive side to them is that they are a blessing in disguise for the right. In that sense, they make me very happy.

Oh, I get it, since you didn't read the article obviously you couldn't have seen the video.
The video is a Father's Day themed ad for the group Dads4Kids, a political group. They were asked to disclaim it, and didn't.
You suggest FreeTV should have broken the Broadcasting Services Act, because it's too much to ask a political group to say "we're a political group", something you seem to be more than willing to ignore, because they align with you personal viewpoint.

Still, good job trying to explain why they would choose to ever run the ad if their aim was "censorship" whenin they could have just said no.
Seems counterproductive, since they had no obligation to ever run the ad. This "delay" is something you made up, as it's not mentioned even D4K statement.

Since it seems it's taking you long to figure it out: the ad would have ran as is, with a disclaimer. Ain't much censorship if the content is unchanged.
Again, no complains were brought to Dads4Kids or FreeTV about the ad, so your railing against "leftists" (be sure to add SJWs and cucks!) is aimless.
Well, more than usual.

Anyway, you go ahead. I told you, classic marketing ploy, but if you're happy to play ball, who am I from stopping you wasting your time.

P.S. You started going off on an unrelated topic when talking marketing strategies. Maybe calm down, than get back ;)

You need to reread my posts if you think that I didn't read the article or read into this shit. That's your homework for the night after you eat dinner. I linked a credible source explaining that it was up to the channel with what's deemed a political matter so it's up to them if the commerical airs or not. You'd know that if you read my posts and what I linked earlier. So stop trying to play this off it's out of  FreeTV's hands. That's a lie. Yes, I did watch the vid and the commerical is harmless as a baby and it's appropriate for Father's day. No one would even know it's political unless they look at the URL that was at the end.

I understand that the tv channel didn't want the ad to be broadcasted, anything gay-related could bring them in trouble right now because people would blame them for picking sides.

What's anti-gay in the ads though?

the issue isn't about it being anti gay it's more to do with where it sits in this time of political ads being broadcast for the marriage debate ,so the channel decided to try to clear it up, because the govt failed to put into place advertising criteria for their second or some would argue  third  best solution.
