Well, thats the beauty of it.It can be whatever you want.Even if you are a filthy handheld lover.Hmph XD

But I prefer home console...

Sometimes.

In the path of redemption, you are.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

As many have already pointed out, this isn't really surprising considering how well portable systems generally do in Japan. Even the Vita is doing decently there despite being more or less dead everywhere else.

A SONY IS DOOMED THREAD?

It is only a matter of time before the Switch overtakes the PS4 in Japan. I don't know how much time, but it will happen eventually.

Kotaku can you be any more click-baity with that title, for this gaming subculture? =p this stuff is GOOOOOLD for threads

PS4 is still doing well there too, good to see a relatively healthy market still puttering along

Of course it is and will continue to do so. This is the Switch at its lower power level in Japan. Wait for Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc. to come out over there.

The amount of Japanese post here from so many people outside of Japan is odd

It's been quite awhile since I've been this shocked.

Meh.

I never saw the Switch beating the PS4 as a big deal since the 3DS did so well over there. However the numbers show that the Switch will not only succeed the Wii U, 3DS but also the Vita. So we should get those 3rd party games from these system. This means that the Switch will be the system with the most Japanese games for all of  9th generation. The only I support it won't get is the western focused games like Resident Evil and Final Fantasy.

It is going to be RPG galore.

So it's going to have a combination of Vita and 3DS RPG support?

Good news for Nintendo, especially after the fiasco that was the Wii U.

Then again, the Wii U did put up quite the fight against the PS4 in Japan. Took almost 3 years for the PS4 to finally outsell it, iirc.
