Wow, I had no idea 400gb micro sd cards were now on the market. I guess 512gb will be the next step.

Any word on pricing? Wonder why they don't go bigger.

I already have a 64 GB, which considering I don't buy digital games (since I like to resell my games) is plenty.

So they can do a package deal with games that need more memory (NBA2k18).

Actually there was just news this week that WD broke the barrier of highest capacity micro SD card again (they also did two years ago) and will be bringing a 400GB card for 250$ to the market. They are trying to increase capacity and they are suceeding.

So I call bullshit on a 512GB card. Maybe it was a regular SD card?

edit: was beaten to it by Layton, but yeah, what he said as well. I know I'm waiting for black friday to roll around to get my Switch sd card :P

Sorry for the late reply, please look at this link.

No problem!

But yeah, that's a regular SD card. And a pretty nice one at that but you'll have a hard time fitting it in your Switch. It only takes micro SD cards, wich look a little diffrent and are only about the size of a fingernail.

Look at the pictures in OP, thats what they look like. There's also SD card sized micro SD adapters since a lot of people don't have dedicated micro SD readers.

Cameras usually use regular SD cards while phones and tablets and other small compact electronics usually use micro SDs.

nintendo. just make a switch game card that acts as a second SD card and people will buy it, price be damned.

I already have a 200GB card. It cost me like $77.

Yeah....Whenever this happens, it generally increases the price of those memory cards. I remember working at Best Buy and they would upcharge the memory cards that are in the gaming department, whereas you could get a comparable one from the camera section for a few bucks cheaper.

How would that exactly work?  They couldn't be the same product because when it gets to the register the scanner has no idea which department it came from it only goes by the code on back.  They would have to offer different brands or types of cards in each section unless they slap a sticker with USP barcode over the original bardcode.

1 TB by end of 2018 or so would be my guess.

I will guess these will only really be sold at Gamestop so that clerks can upsell accessories.
