Forums - Movies & TV - U.S box office has its worst weekend in 15 years!

I wanted to go to movies but nothing got me hyped, I will wait for justice league to release, still this is a bad sign and I don't think this month releases are going to help

I think you are forgetting that most atheist either lean left or are on the left and none of them are fans Sarsour or any other person that is radically religious.  Also why are keep bringing up the march like I said before most marches end up acomplishing absolutetly nothing that is some right wing mentally right there making a big deal out of something that when it was over wasn't a big deal.

The left is a huge fan of Islam, atheist or not. Not sure why you ignore that fact. There's no point in trying to reason with the hard leftists - we've seen that they will deny science if it fits their agenda.

Sure maybe in your delusional right wing view of the world that might be true but in the real world most people on the left are not fans of islam especially the ones that are atheist most people on the left aren't huge fans of any religion no matter what fairy tales they believe in.

It was the identity politics that pushed people away, particularly when the director foolishly assumed that all the 'haters' were sexists and misogynists.

That is true. But it's also not a good movie. I recommend watching RLM's long review of the movie - the Mr Plinkett one.

I love Red Letter Media and that was the most entertaining review since his Star Wars Episode 1-3 reviews. Probably a lot more entertaining than the movie itself haha. I can't believe how horrible that movie looks (based off what I saw in the Plinkett review), but moreso, I can't believe how many critics actually gave it a good score. Really hurts the already fading credibility of reviews, which makes me sad as a game reviewer myself..

The only thing I can conclude is that society as a whole is simply getting stupider. New Ghostbusters is merely a symptom of that.

Sony pictures sure has been one a roll lately, between their failed adaptations of Spiderman, the abomination that is Jack and Jill, and now the sad excuse of a remake, Ghostbusters, which they tried to milk political controversy out of to make it popular..

This guy is president, so that pretty much goes with out saying

Fun fact: The actual unproduced "Ghostbusters 3" script starring the original cast written by Dan Akroyd in the 1990s had the Ghostbusters going to hell, where Donald Trump is the ruler.

Looks like you're the delusional one - leftists are huge Islam fans. They're not fans of Christians though.

Yawn, dorky religons.

Anyways, looks like that so called "slump" is over. IT is on track to massively overperform expectations and a monstrous $100+ million opening weekend:

http://deadline.com/2017/09/stephen-king-it-home-again-box-office-1202163667/

"The strength of the Stephen King brand just proved itself as the R-rated It‘s Thursday showings delightfully horrified crowds, grabbing hold of $13.5M in previews that began at 7 PM. That means it nabbed the largest horror pre-show gross ever, the largest R-rated preview as well as the largest Sept. preview and the biggest ever for a movie based on a a Stephen King book. And no surprise as it was in 3,500 theaters which is basically the same number of theaters Deadpool had for its full weekend release. Deadpool’s preview theaters numbered 2,975."

Could be looking at the biggest September opening of all time.

People want to go to the movies, it was just a matter of a movie coming out that people wanted to see.

Biggest September opening - thanks to inflation, higher population and ticket price increase.

I'll be seeing it today - love my horror movies.

LOL, you are delusional and so are most of your post not that I would expect anything better from a right winger.  Anyone that even leans a bit left wants both their government and politicans to be secular.
