This fight is going to be boring as hell, like all Mayweather fights. He's going to play defensively, stay out of McGregor's reach, and salt away the match by making sure he wins enough rounds via punch count. And then everyone is going to complain about how they wasted a hundred bucks and say how they'll never spend a dollar on Mayweather again, until the next one comes along in two years.

Well....you were wrong :-p

About Mayweather winning the match via judge's decision, or about you regretting wasting your money?

Entertaining fight and mcgregor did himself proud. Made about 100m for the fight too. mayweather would have made close to 300m. Not bad for a guy on welfare 4 years ago. Congrats conor. Looking forward to your ufc return.

FLoyd made a hundred million and Conor made thirty. Conor will make 100 million before his career is through though.

LOL why do people always talk these numbers without researching them first.  That's their guaranteed pay.  When you add in their slice of the PPV and sponsorships mcgregor is around 100m and Floyd 300m according to estimates.

It's like the people who are like "the most mcgregor made from a ufc fight was 3million"

Eh no it was around 25m.

Apparently the 30 million is 10X more than he made in his last UFC fight - and that's for losing; Mayweather made more than triple for winning. Either it shows how much more popular boxing is, or it shows how disgustingly underpaid MMA fighters are in the UFC.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

That fight was a freaking joke. Conor talked all that shit and he got tired on the 4th round. This is the definition of a BS fight.

It's simple, Conner was not conditioned, because UFC fighters aren't trained to do 10 rounds so maybe he'll be better prepared if they do a rematch.

The fight was pretty impressive IMO. Connor did get tired but some of the later rounds were pretty close. Mayweather had better stamina since he's an expert so he lasted better in the later rounds. Overall the match was entertaining.

No the fight was not impressive at all. It went exactly per script for mayweather, Conor punched himself out doing no damage in early rounds and had nothing left in the tank to do anything from the 5th round onward and no none of the rounds after the 5th were close at all. Conor threw way too many nothing punches and lacked endurance.

Has he paid the money back?

Of course. He pays taxes. Probably a hundred or a thousand times over.

I made money from a co-worker. Easiest bet ever. Fight went exactly as expected. Well, I thought it would end a little earlier, but not by much.

Cards were released. Two of the judges had McGregor only winning the first round.

That highlights one of the many real problems with boxing at the moment.

A little of both. The most modern form of professional boxing has been around for over 100 years. Professional MMA less than 30. Needless to say boxing has a way larger fanbase and more major sponsors making those paydays possible.

Also UFC pays most of the guys pretty low. Most of them are lucky if they can make 50K on a fight. That's with performances bonuses. That's why so many guys make the move to Bellator. They pay their fighters better.

Not only that there are people who still view MMA as barbaric and dangerous. When it reality it's track record shows that it's safer than boxing.

So are some boxers, a fighter on the prelims made $3,500 on this card. It's just at the top end of boxing, pay is much, much higher. Mcgregor and Mayweather made almost 99% of the money paid out for this card.
