Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft Expected Xbox One X Scorpio Edition Inventory To Last A Week; It Didn’t Even Last A Day

Rough estimates put PS4 pro sales in US at 400k. It's doing better on Amazon than the pro. Amazon is roughly 10% of US sales. So roughly 40k pros sold on Amazon. Xbox is also ahead for the year on U.K. Amazon.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Definitely with better stock the SNES would sell way better. But Nintendo said they were shipping more than the NES classic and that did really well so i didnt expect the X to do better in pre orders.

Fair enough :)

Anecdotally, it seems like Nintendo did a terrible job with stock again this time around. I was able to order 2 but only because Amazon put it under a different listing with a weird title that I pre-ordered just in case.

LOL they did a shitty job I ordered 28 but was only able to get 2 ... lol sorry the bashing seems silly when some people are buying huge amounts.

On topic: Good for Microsoft they need all the wins they can get real or massaged. PR talk or not, selling out in 25 minutes is a good thing (unless you're Nintendo) .. damn it, did it again. I'm taking this as a positive.

So the Scorpio edition is above 40k? Is it fair to say that this "limited edition" might take up a pretty decent chunk of X sales, and as such it might still not do that well(while doing better than Pro still)?

As noted before, Amazon is 10 percent of sales all things being equal, but the pro was out of stock on Amazon throughout the first quarter, which also happened to have the biggest months in February and March, so it's not a simple calculation like that. They might have sold 40k, they might have sold 15-20, it's impossible to say.

There were still gamestops selling preorders the day after, even though its "soldout" launch date. It'll probably do similar to the Pro launch month than fall off a cliff the next year.
And PS pro also sold out within minutes on Amazon, and wwas ahead of nearly every xbox veggie coming out last year....yet didn't sell much. Typical bs PR from Greenberg imo lol

Nice! Wonder if we'll finally get updated Xbox sales numbers after it launches?

I am bashing Nintendo a little bit. Especially after last year, they knew exactly how insane the demand would be for their system and they still only provided a relatively meager amount. I'm not a scalper, my man, I bought one for me and one for my brother and his family, and the only reason I was able to do that is Amazon juked out scalpers by putting their preorders under a differently titled sku that I happened to stumble across at 4 am yesterday morning after trying and failing to get an order in at Best Buy. Had I not just come home from Oxford and had a resulting wonky sleep schedule I wouldn't have had a chance to order one. Other sites sound like they sold out in seconds, rather than minutes.

It's an amazing product, and Nintendo is a great company, but I don't think it's controversial to say that they sometimes have problems with providing enough supply to their customers.

One word...Scalpers.

It's a limited edition!

The usual PR talk as expected. Plus I've read countless times that people pre-ordered one but aren't even sure if they will buy it.

This or the other way this doesn't tell anything yet.

yeah, one word.  https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DH9BBpMVoAA_BCs.jpg

Some gamestops still had stock so gamestop moved that stock online.
