I like my Sony at the top. Doesn't mean I want the rest to fail, but when Sony is on top there's a chance for diversity in gaming that isn't possible when the others were the top selling at some point.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

This gen has been kind of relaxing on this front. The squabbling has been mostly minimal with occasional flareups. Sony's on top, but they aren't slacking on the games, so...can't say I miss the competition too much.

I think it's cool to have competition because it provides a healthier market. I don't know much about the numbers between this and last gen but I would think the industry from last gen was great financially. It's just unfortunate studios went down due to HD development being young and complicated. Regardless what brand you favor, having all three do well means great things. I think it allows greater diversity in audiences. Do you think PS or Xbox could get the elderly to play games like the Wii did? More people enjoying the hobby I love is great.

Sorry, I'm not neutral.

At least Nintendo have raised the stakes a bit with the Switch, thus making things a little more interesting.

Last gen was the second-worst one in history when it comes to financials. The only period worse than that was the American video game crash in the early 1980s that took down console and game makers alike.

People forget that companies need profits to stay healthy and deliver products to us.

I think that everyone should do well enough to stay in the market but I prefer it when a playstation console is the market leader. Alot more Japanese games get ported over and more exclusives are created/agreed upon.

Ok then...probably for a variety of reasons including HD development in its early years. Still, doesn't deter me from enjoying last gen.

No! I'm quite pleased with the ass-whomping that Sony has been administering this gen. So let's all talk in circles about it ad infinitum. What a pounding! There's plenty of other topics to discuss outside of the hardware sales race anyways.

Last gen was amazing. I loved the ways companies tried to get marketshare (PS Move, Kinect, price cuts, slim versions).

Now everything is so stagnant and the winners of the generation were clear right after the first few months after launch.

Yeah so stagnant with stuff like PS VR, the price cuts, the PS4 Slim and Pro. New ways to play like SharePlay and PlayLink.
