Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Digital Foundry first look at Skyrim Switch

Played this enough on pc as is... dont really see the appeal off playing it on the go either.
But to each their own I guess.

oh.... 'member when the NX was supposed to be more powerful than the PS4 + being a portable??

I 'member....

And I laughed at those claims.
And spent many a-time arguing with them.

Well, that's kinda disappointing for what has become a fairly old game, I assume docked mode has better performance though. I remember the first edition of the game running pretty badly on PS3 and 360 as well, major stutter and fps drops and crazy loading times.
Have they confirmed the insane loading times that we heard of earlier in the Switch version?

I got it on Steam the moment it came available, spent a good 5 hours downloading it... And bam. Didn't run.
Turned out, my sound quality was to high. Seriously.

It's a Bethesda game though, they are criminal when it comes to bugs and erratic performance.

Bethesda seemed to have improved on that with Fallout 4's release though, thankfully.

Anyway. Good on Switch owners for getting this last-gen game, it really is a solid game and worth a play if you haven't done so yet.

I never played Skyrim. Never saw the appeal but it came in as number one on Game Informer's top 100 RPGs of all time. I'll grab it if there's not anything else I'm playing on the Switch at the time.

No, no one does because no one who was reasonably discussing  the Switch/NX actually thought that. Please don't resort to this type of discussion.

Many people did believe it could compute 1TF 32FP so  he wasn´t that far off, even when all logic argued that there was no battery capable of keeping it running for longer than 30 minutes and before overheating.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Rock solid performance, on-the-go, and motion controls. I'll be getting it.

How was that video disappointing? Did you watch the video?

It was playing in portable mode at its native 720p which looks perfect in portable mode. It had a same solid framerate as PS4/XB1. They gave it a really good description in no uncertain terms.

I may get it. Bought it when it originally released on the PC and spent several hours on it before other games came out. My get this just to get through the story.

Do you lie that bad all the time or just when you think it will score you points and high fives?

--------

So, it's the remaster and runs in portable mode at a solid 30 fps.  Sounds great.

By the way, for those bitching that's it's only 720p, the screen itself is 720p.  You won't ever see a game running a higher res in portable mode.

Were you not around these forums during the "NX" days?

There were plenty of users making the wildest of claims, including, but not limited to: NX more powerful than PS4 and XB1, NX will have VR, Red Dead 2 will be announced for the NX, 3rd party parity with the XB1 and PS4, etc.

Maybe research a bit before calling someone a liar imho.

OT:

Will be curious as to how many sales Skyrim can pull at this point. I'm thinking my toaster will get a Skyrim version before the next Elder Scrolls is out :/

Eh?  You can play it on Xbox with mods.  Mods can take this from a good game into a great game.  For example:
