I think usually when people say "Bold Prediction" they mean "dumb prediction." There's nothing bold about lack of analysis and lack of foresight in messageboard posts.

One was better than the other? Sony doesn't invest the time and resources for games geared to a younger audience because they secretly hate that segment of the market and don't take it seriously? Nintendo makes games that are geared more towards a fun experience and less about visuals? The reviewers felt bad for Nintendo after the wii u years?

I think there are a number of factors in play but the first I listed is most likely.
