Jesus Christ, the animation and facial expressions are trash. Sega used to be so ahead in the area of 3D animation...now they've been reduced to this...
Shenmue 3 is being developed on probably less than half the budget it had under SEGA (for its time). "Fans" should have been expected something closer to a indie/passion project effort. Passion project/indie game or not, it looks phenomenal.Facial animation needs work and weightlessness in combat is just the end result of not having any sound effects other than music. That will be taken care of later.
Bleh, the character models are hideous, they look like some sort of anime puppets.
I don't want cutting edge visuals, something at par with Yakuza 0 would be fine with me.
Not a deal breaker, but disappointing.

Yer but it is an indy dev with a budget of what like $5M for this? The original cost $70M to make on the flip side.
This was never going to end well. All we can hoep for is a good story. to me it looks liek they decided to be nostalgic with it with the money they had.
With advancements in technology and tools that there is on hand atm, you would think at least $20M would be needed to make it a decent AA game let alone a AAA.
Do I wish it was better? absolutely. Who knows what will happen in the final? Perhaps Sony will throw some more cash at it to fix it up.

Plenty of indie games with less of a budget look great. They also know what a the human face looks like.
