use a wii and convert it to hdmi (from component, obv). i had the gc component cables, and the wii for some reason, its output just changes over to hdmi much more flawlessly. yes, i'm talking about one of those cheap "made in china" boxes. it makes the wii look and sound digital and format incredibly well on an hdtv.

wii2hdmi on the other hand...i tried 2 or 3 different brands of those. it is not the same as a box. it did nothing to upgrade the audio or visuals.

I'm pretty sure that the HDMI converter is just a passthrough, it still outputs in component. Also, I saw a video on it (by AdamKoralik), and the GC component cables look a bit better than Wii component cables. So, GC with component cables is the best output, but for a much more affordable solution the Wii with component cables is acceptable I'd say.

adam explained that a box would convert it to digital, which an hdtv would handle better. all the sprites and the picture size and everything is more accurate.

Pretty sure the answear is Dolphin & emulation.

Oh, so you got this information from his video? Are you talking about the Framemeister, then? I don't think he had one at the time he made that video.

How about hacking the WiiU to play them? Not too sure if the controller would be supported, but the picture quality should be about as good as it gets, barring HD remasters or Dolphin emulation.

nah. just a box that converts it to hdmi. if the box does the upscaling instead of your tv, it'll come out better in most cases i think. i don't claim to be a technical expert, but this definitely worked for me.

Yeah, that's because he didn't have the Framemeister at the time.

get an Xbox

Clearly, if you want the best image, you need to use Dolphin.
