Forums - PC Discussion - Age of Empires 4 coming to Windows 10

I can bet this game will stay as a PC exclusive and won't be ever released on Xbox. About pushing PC really hard. Yes, because software-wise they've done way more for PC gaming than for the console this year. Age of Empires trilogy remaster. Age of Empires 4. Some other RTS I don't remember the name crossplay support between WinStore and Steam. While the only thing console gamers got from them this year is an upgraded console.

See, now you've narrowed an entire gen down to a single year for pushing towards PC. I was on about this gen so far, not a year where it obviously looked good from MS's side.

By the end of the gen, they'll have pushed more for their console sdie than PC, otherwise, if they truly pushed more for PC, their Xbox division would be in complete shambles than it's current state now.

crossplay support between Steam and Win 10 store users?, I don't recall that being a distinct thing, what games share players between Steam and win 10 store?.

Xbox users aren't just getting an upgraded console, they are getting games none the less. We'll see how big the PC push is next year and the years following onward.

Dammit, another game blocked by the W10 wall.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

What's with that entire gen point? They changed their strategy only last year and it is definitely obvious that now they are very PC-focused. For example, yesterday at gamescom they've been talking about Forza 7 and how great it will play on PC and that it is the best version of the game and almost nothing was said about how great it plays on Xbox One X - their new console. It seems to me that they gave up on Xbox in Europe and will try to push PC here. The only region where Xbox consoles will be marketed really well is US as it seems right now.

Rise of Nations: Extended Cut. This game will have cross-play between Windows Store and Steam. And I can bet that there will be more of them to come.

I'm glad they finally decided to revive this franchise! I would have liked to see some gameplay though, I wanna know which era it's set in and what art style they chose.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

So do we know anything about this game?

Very glad they didn't shove it on Xbox too like I feared and ruined it with gamepad friendly control.

I'm very confused with the AOE 2 Definitive announcement though. I have a feeling it won't be liked as much as the HD version.

So, I've been thinking about where this new Age of Empires could be set, and I found this on the net from when AoE III launched:

Mind you, that was Ensemble's plan, but do you think it's possible that MSoft/Relic will keep that?

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Yeah I remember that image in the AOE 3 Manual.

But if the reveal trailer is any indication it looks like AOE4 will be set in both the ancient era of AOE1, and the medieval era of AOE 2.

Well, in the trailer they say that "a new age is upon us", which could mean the game or the historical setting. We'll have to wait until we get a proper trailer with gameplay.

meh, announcement trailers without any look at gameplay are highly unsatisfying
