Xbox One X Pre-Orders Are Live But Sold Out Already At Some Stores

Update: Retailers have been selling the Xbox One X for close to a day now, and many have already sold out. Amazon and GameStop's allotments of the Scorpio Edition appear to be gone, although GameStop is still selling a $600 bundle that packages the system with an Elite controller. We'll continue to update our Xbox One X pre-order guide with the latest details and links, but you may want to act soon if you want to ensure you get the Scorpio Edition, which is available by pre-order only.

Original Story: Eager fans have been waiting for the opportunity to pre-order the Xbox One X since before it even had an official name, and today's finally the day. As expected, Microsoft's Gamescom livestream brought news about the upcoming console, including the fact that pre-orders have gone live--check out our guide on how to pre-order an Xbox One X. We'll be keeping that story updated as more retailer listings come online.

A rumor emerged last week that pre-orders would go live today following the conclusion of Microsoft's stream. Microsoft promised news on them would be coming today along with a "cool surprise," which has turned out to be the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition. That version is available by pre-order only and sports a unique design and exclusive vertical stand.

The Xbox One X is set for launch on November 7 worldwide with a price of $500 / £449 / AU $649. Crackdown 3 was set to be released alongside it, but the game was recently delayed until Spring 2018.

It's still available at Best Buy and Target, but I doubt they'll last too much longer, it seems this really is a limited edition.

Much like the Switch back when it opened pre orders, without numbers this means next to nothing.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I think the fact that it isnt sold out already is very telling.

This is the Project Scorpio Limited Edition we are talking about right?

When will the regular Xbox One X version be available for Pre-Order?

I think the xbox x will have a better launch than the PS4 pro. Xbox Fans specially in the US will gladly upgrade. But after launch, I don't see it doing well at all.

Yeah, I think Xbox fans in general were more excited about an upgraded system. I remember there was a lot of outrage amongst the hardcore fans when the Neo leaked, while I think Xbox fans are more eager to up the power of their console that, when combined with the general techheads eager to buy the latest and greatest, will push it to have a good launch. I have no idea if it will sell to a more casual crowd, though. I have a hard time seeing most paying such a premium price.

Yeah, the numbers will be very Front Loaded.

I may be wrong, but i dont see the Xbox One X charting in the Amazon Top 100 by January of next year.

The Xbox One S is struggling to make it, as we've seen in the Amazon Thread.

What would make the One X, being twice as expensive, to chart better than the One S?

Oh wow! Glad there's an audience for it!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Hmm I'm not sure what to make of this, yet. I hope that the Xbox One X sells well, but I do agree that sales will likely be front-heavy, especially given the time of year it launches.

I also just realized that the Xbox One X shorthand-acronym is also XBOX lol. Now I haaaaaave to type out the whole name each time to not be confused Dx

I don't think MS is going for hard numbers; just the ability to say "Hey look! We sold out! X is a success!"

i can't imagine that, if it's selling out this fast, they've made too many.
