Have no glasses might have to check my library or just say f@#$ it

There are plenty of alternative safe ways to view the eclipse if you don't have glasses

My body is ready.

This will be my third eclipse now, I'm old. First one was a total one for which I drove 6 hours to France with a bunch of friends, road trip!, only to be stuck under total cloud cover. It was still sorta impressive, a huge shadow moving across while it stayed light at the horizon on all sides.

Second was a 1/3rd partial at the end of the day, easily seen with the naked eye through wispy clouds. Today will be 2/3rd partial in the middle of the day. (Would have to drive 12 hours to see the full eclipse). I made a couple of box pinhole projectors with my kids, however projector is a big word. The sun is no larger than a confetti dot in there. Maybe it will be cloudy enough to take a few pictures.

Imagine watching it from here...

It'll only be a partial eclipse here. However, I don't have glasses anyway, so I won't be able to see it.

Aren't you excited to go blind?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

What the hell is going on? I live in Phoenix and the eclipse is supposed to peak at 1030 am. I looked outside and the sky is perfectly normal. Zero obscuration of the sun by the moon. WTF?

Yep, definitely gonna watch! Will only happen once in my lifetime after all.

There is one coming in 2024 that goes across a decent amount of states unless you plan on dying in the next 7 years.

It's not zero - it's about 50% as I write this, but it will still seem sunny. Your maximum coverage was 70%. Get a piece of paper, put a small hole in it, and then project through to another piece of paper. You should see the crescent. Here's what it should be looking like live where you are now...

Is there a total eclipse where you live?
