This is a brand new project that will offer something different from Monolithsoft's usual brand image. It is a new challenge they are tackling. They are looking for programmers and battle planners for the action portion of the game, specifically people who have experience in action games and able to handle responsive combat.

This is definitely a fantasy action RPG.

Out of curiosity, the only action RPG they've done up until now has been Soma Bringer, correct? While I wouldn't say the genre is uncharted waters for them, it is definitely not one they really have an identity in yet. It's a little hard to imagine what will fruit this will eventually bear, but that's why it's pretty exciting to see them tackle something brand new.

It good they are working on new IP, and knowing Monolith they could finish this game in 2-3 years.

I was a huge fan of the first two games, but I always welcome new endeavors. I guess we will have to wait and see what is in store :)

I hope this is an all new IP; a fresh new franchise with quality on par with the first Xenoblade would be a dream come true.

More signs that Nintendo is finally getting on board with the trends of modern gaming. Good.

Probably a Dark Souls like game as they're the type of games on the up at the moment that developers want to have a try at. Monolith are not new to trying different types of games as on the GC they had Baten Kaitos while on the Wii they had Day of Crisis followed by Soma Bringer on DS before they concentrated on Monado/Xenoblade.
