Forums - Gaming Discussion - Mass Effect: Andromeda will have no more single-player content

"BioWare vowed to fixMass Effect: Andromeda's numerous teething troubles shortly after launch, but there's apparently only so much it can do. The studio has revealed that its 1.10 patch is the last single-player update for the game -- in a confirmation of rumors, there won't be any solo-focused patches or (more importantly) downloadable content. The game was meant to expand on the Pathfinder story though multiplayer missions, BioWare says, and other stories will be told through comics and novels."

What do you guys think? I was hoping they were gonna patch it alot more. I guess i won't be preordering or buy any bioware games day one from now on.

That fucking sucks. I actually enjoyed the game! Yes, it has its issues with writing, but the combat was great, and the game finally started to implement the RPG elements we saw in the first Mass Effect (such as a large amount of side-quests). Won't be pre-ordering anymore Bioware games for sure. Also blaming Microsoft for not holding Bioware onto dear life instead of selling it to EA.

Also, EA is officially worse than Acti now. That is saying something...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

If they just leave it as is, that greatly diminishes potential sales for the next entry. It gives me the impression that they don't think the Mass Effect franchise as a whole is the worth the effort in saving. >_>
Oh well. Maybe they'll work on a Star Wars RPG instead.

Guess its as good as its going to get then ?

Just don't pre-order games (unless you REALLY need a certain special edition box in your life). I enjoy most of Bioware's games, but I'm always cautious.

Yeah that's really not surprising ... this was a game that I willingly boarded the hype train for :c probably the biggest disapppintment for me in a while. EA whyyyyyyyy you do this.

Disappointing. I enjoyed at Andromeda despite it's flaws. It was, in many ways, the game I was expecting Mass Effect 2 to be. It expanded on ME1's premise. Given it's sales placement on the NPD Charts. It's sold over 3 million copies in North America. MEA is 7th best in sales this year. The 6 best selling game has over 3.5 million units old. The 8th best has over 3 million units sold. Having to find out what the fate of the Quarian Ark in books or comics is just plain unacceptable. The game didn't hit EA's lofty sales goals but it was profitable.

I need to amend my previous post. The blame for Andromeda falls squarely on Bioware. EA offered to get Bioware Montreal another 6 months but they choose to launch the game as is. Subsequently the studio was disbanded. Given the state of MEA at launch, I really can't blame EA for shutting them down.

This is likely the end of the ME franchise.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Can you post a link to that? I've never heard of something like that happening.
