Forums - Gaming Discussion - DigitalFoundry: Monster Hunter XX: Switch vs 3DS Graphics Comparison + Frame-Rate test

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUy9lrTS28c

3DS: 400X240, 30fps with frame pacing.

Switch Docked: 1920x1080, 30fps with frame pacing, a huge Visual upgrade (Texture, anti-aliasing, Effects, anisotropic filtering, high texture shadows, more).

Switch Handheld: 1280x720, 30fps with frame pacing, Visual is the same as docked mode.

Why no down sampling from a higher resolution in portable mode ?

Honestly, a lot of the work that was done is nice but what hurts this is the same thing that hurt Twilight Princess HD: geometry. A few things have been fixed up but most of the geometry is identical, which really limits how good the new textures can look. If they had taken the time to improve polygonal complexity of scenes and levels, the game would look twice as good. And if they claim they didn't for crossplay parity with the 3DS, imo forget that. If this is going to be the Switch's monhun for now, push it as that.

Maybe its seeing all the other trailers for "monster hunter worlds" for the PS4 resently....

but this just looks so bland and boreing compaired to that (gameplay & graphics).

Monster Hunter World > XX.

From this video, its evident the Switch is just slightly more powerful than the 3DS.

Looks really ugly to be honest. It would've been graphically substandard on the Xbox 360, much less the Switch.

What were guys expecting? It's a 3DS port by Capcom.

As usual , Capcom is just being lazy.

I'm surprised they couldn't get it to 60fps, it seems like it should have been doable.
