Who said anything about lifecycle? I just think sales will slow down and not enough people will buy it. Is it really that hard for you seeing other people think it won't sell like crazy to beat PSP, Gamecube, PS3 or Wii? it's called prediction for a reason. Some people thinks PS4 is not surpassing 100M, I personally disagree but who cares? You just deal with it and wait

Yes, I do have a problem with people making predictions based on feelings instead of data and evidence. Saying that the PS4 won't pass 100 million is about as pessimistic (or should I say illogical) as saying that the Switch won't pass 60 million.

The gif I posted was a reaction to you saying that it wouldn't be extreme to think that the Switch could sell less next year. How was I gonna respond to such nonsense?

MAYBE my old prediction is too low, let's say I change it to 60-65m. I still don't think it will go higher than that and will fall behind all the systems previously mentioned. I don't see it as clear as PS4 reaching 100M though, especially because one has already been many years in the market and is easier to predict

Don't stress it, we'll know that soon enough with how well Switch software sells ...  

Nintendo's hardware sales mostly depend on the strength of it's IPs so once Super Mario Odyssey comes out and after the holidays we'll get hint in comparison to the 3DS ... (SM3DL was able to sell over 10M units and whatever direction SMO goes will be a big result) 

I'm actually really curious about the total sales of this console by the end of it's lifetime. It could end up anywhere between 50 to 90 million depending on how the influx of games and how long it's gonna take for the hardware to be impractical to develop for.

There's a potential killer app in Pokémon Switch coming out third year, which gives that year the highest probability of being the highest selling, as by that time supply issues won't be a problem.
