The beta for the PlayStation 4 system’s next major system software update 5.00 (codenamed NOBUNAGA) rolls out today for those of you that were selected for the beta program. If you signed up and were chosen, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to download and get started.

Key features:

  • Family Manager, Parent/Guardian
  • Friend List Management
  • Broadcast feature updates(1080p 60 FPS Twitch Streaming (Pro)
  • Messages Improvements
  • Notifications Updates
  • Quick Menu Updates
  • Virtual Surround Sound on PS VR
  • Improved Tournaments Bracket Viewer
  • New System Language Additions

Kind of mediocre TBH, anyways I'm downloading it right now.

the last big one afaik had Pro boost mode as hidden/unannounced feature, maybe (small chance) something more exciting is hidden here aswell

I've searched through every setting. Didn't see anything.

This is one of those updates where I have to question if anyone working at Sony actually uses the system in their real life. So many things that could easily be done to improve the OS expereince, yet we get a handful of things that really add nothing. Even more sad is the fact that some very useful features that the community has asked for since PS3 are still missing. With the amount of success Sony has had this generation, and the addition of PS+, they should have plenty of resources to bring in the people to build a solid, secure, and stable OS. How building the PlayStation OS into a serious iOS/Mac/Windows/Android competitor is not the upmost priority at Sony is beyond me. It is almost like they don't want to succeed.



Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

So many other features I could think off that the PS4 could use. Still the best gamng option outside of PC gaming. But PC gaming isnt the most accessible now is it?

Can I change my PSN ID yet? No?, then I don't care. I know Sony has made it clear it won't happen but I can't stop hoping they will surprise us all.
