Chun Li looked of chinese origin for the first time. One that was not otherworldly attractive/perfect. That was the point of her original face.  It's in line with how characters are being designed today (New Lara Croft, entirety of MK cast in X). Her new face completely throws all that away for typical anime face with all. 

Chris top shot looks like early build face and then updated face based off the same general design. Typical of development. Not comparable.

All of what you say about Chun Li's model are nothing but assumptions. She didn't look chinese to me. The other models in the game are certainly not in line with the models from Tomb Raider or MK. Stylistically speaking, a realistic look wouldn't mix well with the rest of the cast and the art style in place. But that argument would make sense if she really looked Chinese in the first place.

Capcom employee ratted out what hapened.  Supposly Disney wanted all the Capcom characters to look worse than the Marvel characters.  Mega Man was exempted snce supposedly Disney is working on the new show somehow (Probably going to be on Disney XD).  Capcom characters are also going to be useless in the story mode as well.

I heard someone who told me that a friend of his, who's living next door to the cousin of that one guy working in the indusry who met with this Capcom product tester at PAX Africa...

Hoenstly it was at shoryuken's forum.  It might be buried in one of the Marvel threads.  Like, this is just supposition since who knows if that guy was legit or not.  We'll know when the game comes out.  The guy mentions Capcom's characters normally get beat on in the story and Marvel characters have to come to save the day.  If that's the case then it's probably true.

On the "old" it looked like someone tried writing Chinese calligraphy on her forehead and failed.

Yeah, it's still not perfect, but considering that it's Capcom, I'm not really going to be expecting too much more out of them

I don't get how Chun Li can be someone's wiafu. She's the type of character that literally is only good looking in fan art, all official stuff is meh. Kind of like Bayonetta.
