Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Crackdown 3 delayed until Spring 2018

I have HUGE feelings the multiplayer wasn't anywhere near a go. I'm getting Scalebound vibes from this title now. Will it make it to market?

It will.
Xbox knows that they cannot risk cancelling it.
At worst, if Microsoft cuts the funding, it will come out broken.

LOL. The delaybox One. Sea of thieves delayed, state of decay 2 delayed, crackdown 3 delayed. All these games should have launched this year. MS dont give release dates when youre not 100% sure about it.

On the bright side is the delayed games make MS first hald look pretty good.

God damn, I agree that if it really needed a delay then the best thing to do is delay it rather than release it anyway, but Microsoft really needs to sort their exclusives out.

They still have others like Forza Motorsport 7, Cuphead, Super Lucky's Tale, etc for the rest of this year but it remains to be seen how man systems those could push aside from Forza since those usually seem to sell well.

Especially since Crackdown 3 was releasing on the same day as the Xbox One X so maybe they wanted it to be the system seller?

So, Forza alone for the holidays while their new system launches?

That seems like poor timing, and another mistake in a continually growing list since the start of this gen.

Ok looking at the game, it probably needed a delay. But from a business perspective, this year has been nothing short of an unmitigated catastrophe. Their exclusive lineup was already weak, their sales are the lowest they've been in years, they're being outsold in the US by the fading 3DS, the Xbox One X didn't make nearly the splash they hoped, and now the two games that could have showed off the Xbox One X's strength in distinct ways - Scalebound and Crackdown - have been canceled and delayed respectively, leaving the Xbox One X to launch at $499 with next to no exclusives and nothing tailored to flex its muscles other than Forza. And what's worse is there are virtually no multiplatform games that seem set to show up with substantial Xbox One X improvements, with most just lookijg to be the PS4 Pro version running at a slightly higher resolution.

Had this been a PS exclusive there would have been troll heaven uproar.

Well this game actually looked fun when it was shown where as Scalebound looked like a big pile of crap so we're probably safe.

After all of the negative press the game was receiving, I think it's a good idea. It wasn't up to snuff.
