Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Crackdown 3 delayed until Spring 2018

Another disaster. X should have launched last year. Not the slim. Now the only game they have to showcase the X is Forza and year old upgrades.

It always looked a pile of shit, and more likely than not, it will be a pile of shit upon release. The game was announced more than 3 years ago? Few more months aren't enough to introduce drastic changes.

I also fear for the future of the studio. For how long have they been working on this game? How many copies should it sell to turn profits?

It needs to be an exceptional game to sell well on a fading platform, as the Xbox sold less than the 3DS in the US last month, the numbers might be even lower next year. The PC crowd is the only hope for Crackdown and the studios behind it.

I think I read/heard somewhere it was around 5years.

And yeah it was shown in 2014, a trailer.

Not sure if it was supposed to launch in 2015 or 2016, but now its looking like 2018.

Its been delayed what? 4 times now?

The question is if it would have been delayed if they didnt do that horrible PR show, with youtube celebs playing it.

They didnt make the game look good, and it got some pretty negative feedback.

There was also rumors of multiplayer not working right, so it would have to launch with only the single player stuff and then lateron get patched in multiplayer. So I can understand the delay if thats true, since the online multiplayer and destrutability are like the main selling points of the game.

I think the delay is because Crackdown 3 developers noticed how powerful and beastly the Xbox One X really is, making the use of The Cloud redundant.

There is no need for Cloud Computing anymore, the Xbox One X is powerful enough to process all the required physics as shown in the first demo, easily.

If im not mistaken, i read in the Windows Central website that the Xbox One X is equivalent to a 4.500$ PC, which would be able to render all the particles and effects needed for this ground breaking game.

The developers should take the time they need, even if they have to delay the game again, i wouldnt be mad. Crackdown 3 will change the gaming scenario, just like Mario 64 did in its time.

Just have patience people, it will be worth it.

Found this quite telling

they haven't shown the multiplayer in a while which I guess is the reason for the delay.

xbox one X isn't a new gen console which mean they still have to have xb1 s in mind.  You know they won't release the game as an exclusive to xbox one X.

good for crackdown but bad rep for Xbox and Microsoft.this is the perfect time releasing more exclusives for xb1 because its cheaper than ever before to penetrate the casual market much easier.with exciting exclusives games and good marketing they can easily won over the casuals.i think they missed the trick here,in stead of following Sony by releasing more powerful xb1 they should have focused on building 1st party studios and casual market penetration.just because Sony doing it u don't have to do the same.

I mean, if the games need it, then so be it. I think it will for the benefit of the end product but it puts MS's offerings this holiday on shaky grounds, as far as exclusives. Granted, Sony doesn't doesn't really have that much to offer either and funny enough, both their big titles are racers (GTS and FM7) Looks like for Sony and MS, they are banking on some multi-plat to save the holidays and with CoD, Destiny and Battlefront, they certainly have options for the shooter crowd. Looks like Nintendo is gonna have the best fall/holiday offerings.

Hopefully, the devs can work to better the recent wave of less than stellar impressions they've gotten from early previews.

How did Microsoft go from that (ignoring the first year, 7 was the MINIMUM)
to 7, 7, 7, 5, 3. with 7 being the MAXIMUM.

I was shocked to see THIRTEEN in 2007. That year must have been insane.

Xbox 360 2007 Exclusive Lineup was so amazing, i just cant believe how Phil Spencer tried to convince people that 2015 X1 Lineup was the best ever LOL

2015 was a damn good year with Forza 6, Gears UE, Halo 5 and Ori. That was a strong lineup and imo better than 2007. Still I find 2016 lineup to be the best ever. 2008 and 2010 were great years too.

That list is a bit funny though. Now Kinect games count again heh.
