Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Crackdown 3 delayed until Spring 2018

Can somebody tell me exactly how many times this game has been delayed?

3 I think. The first CGI trailer. Then MS was quite for awhile after the multiplayer reveal. Now this one.

The big game that was supposed to launch with the Xbox One X, to showcase what it could do? and its delayed.

Tough cookies, that might effect xbox one x launch abit.

Ok looking at the game, it probably needed a delay. But from a business perspective, this year has been nothing short of an unmitigated catastrophe. Their exclusive lineup was already weak, their sales are the lowest they've been in years, they're being outsold in the US by the fading 3DS, the Xbox One X didn't make nearly the splash they hoped, and now the two games that could have showed off the Xbox One X's strength in distinct ways - Scalebound and Crackdown - have been canceled and delayed respectively, leaving the Xbox One X to launch at $499 with next to no exclusives and nothing tailored to flex its muscles other than Forza. And what's worse is there are virtually no multiplatform games that seem set to show up with substantial Xbox One X improvements, with most just lookijg to be the PS4 Pro version running at a slightly higher resolution.

Couldn't agree more.

Having 6 teraflops is great but unless that translates into gaming experiences unavailable on other consoles nobody will care....

Comments like these give me 100% flashbacks to Scalebound. This could even be a word for word quote.

I can't recall much about Fable. Was it constantly pushed back as well? I feel like the closing of the game/studio came out of no where - is that right?

I don't know. If they cancel it, they cancel it. The world will keep on spinning. Crackdown was going to be a day one purchase for me despite the fact that I've only played a few minutes of the first game.

I actually don't know when this game was originally supposed to release. As far as I know, it never had a release date until E3 2017. Before that, it was just reveals and announcements. Hope M$ can get it together because they're desperate for a hit right now.

Wasnt it shown off in 2014? so its been like 4 years of waiting for it.

Four years between announcement trailer and release. I've seen worse.

"Console launch exclusive PUBG"...
So this means that its eventually coming to PS4. Good. Wonder how long we have to wait

I think thats because of playtest? or whatever MS call it, they allow people to play games that are no where near finished, early alpha/beta games.

Once its "done" and ready to launch, it ll probably be out on PC & PS4 as well.

Wow. That's gonna sting.

I honestly dont understand the hype in Crackdown. I never liked it. Played the 1st two and found them rather mediocre games i put in the same league as Prototype and Infamous. Maybe its just my taste.
They can take there time all they want. This game does not interest me.
Sorry for those who are hyped for it. Hopefully it turns out good in the end.

I think this is the first time it's actually been delayed, as release info before MS announced November 7th or whatever, was always just speculation. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this November was the first release date it actually had.

It always looked a pile of shit, and more likely than not, it will be a pile of shit upon release. The game was announced more than 3 years ago? Few more months aren't enough to introduce drastic changes.

I also fear for the future of the studio. For how long have they been working on this game? How many copies should it sell to turn profits?

It needs to be an exceptional game to sell well on a fading platform, as the Xbox sold less than the 3DS in the US last month, the numbers might be even lower next year. The PC crowd is the only hope for Crackdown and the studios behind it.
