I liked Resident Evil 6 and loved Final Fantasy XIII. They might not be loathed by everyone, but they sure have their vocal hate trains.

Sonic Adventure 1 + 2. I loved the second game especially, played through it multiple times and spent way too much time in the Chao Garden. I even replayed it years later on an emulator.

Also, Paper Mario Color Splash. Haven't finished it yet (I don't like the Wii U) but what I've played so far was a lot of fun.

-Gears of War: Judgement- Not great, but not as bad as reviewers made it seem.

I liked the killzone series, which in generally is seen as mediocre.

I loved the KZ series, only KZ 1 was seen as bad according to Metacritic.

Yes but plenty of people also dislike the 4th installment. Which I still think is a pretty decent game especially the drone was a nice addition. The story was very poor especially the latter chapters. But it's a first person shooter so what gives. The second installment of Killzone was my favourite shooter on PS3. The weapons really had a nice and realistic feel to it, finally a game that understood that a LMG is  freaking heavy and that you can't aim with it as a pistol.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Metroid Other M, Federation Force, Devil's Third, Kingdom Hearts 358 2 Days, Final Fantasy XIII, Wii Fit, Star Fox Zero, Beyond Two Souls, Golden Sun Dark Dawn... you name it. I'm the story of hated games xD

Loathed is probably not the right word to use, but there are some games I can think of that a lot of people at least at some point did not like.

-Nier. Got a lot of bad reviews when it was released, with most seemingly focusing on its average gameplay while ignoring the story, characters and music that were all excellent.
-DMC. The fan backlash has always been amusing to me on this one. It's certainly not some great masterpiece, but I think it's a very good game nonetheless. The level design and overall visual style are both great for example.

It's not quite as strong as 'everybody else loathes' them, but within the Zelda cannon Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are definitively treated like unwanted stepchildren.
Mostly because of 'gimmicky touch screen controlls' being 'forced onto the player' as well as the 'childish WW art style'.
And I just love them. Love everything about them. I didn't play then right when they came out though (partly because edgy 16-year old me much preferred the Art style of the Oracle games to the 'childish WW art style' ;P), but came at them a few years later, with an open mind and was blown away by how much fun they are.

Wait what?

Was PH disliked? Man I loved that game so add that to my list.

But I missed out on ST maybe I should try it out.

Oh yeah, I actually forgot about the 4th installment lol

The game was a reskinned gears of war with a passable story and non-stop horde mode. Gears is mainly played for the gameplay than the subpar story. The story was never great, but its engaging enough to play. This...does not a bad game make. Besides, Gears is one of my favorite franchise so i welcomed hordes. Horde mode is one of the best things about gears.

This is one of those threads that will always be remade every once in a while, isn't it?

I don't think I love any game people loathe, but I definitely like some games people loathe and also love some games people dislike. Examples like Skyward Sword (latter), No Man's Sky (former) or Star Fox Zero (middle ground I guess)... but usually the stuff I like doesn't bear overwhelmingly negative opinions from people.

Wait... You like Skyward Sword but bash Ocarina of Time because of "road blocks"?

Anyways for me:

Sonic Lost World (love)
Mighty No. 9 (like)
Devil's Third (like)
Star Fox Zero (like)
Metroid Other M (like a lot)
