Forums - Nintendo Discussion - My Splatoon 2 requested features / changes

After having played about 85 hours of Splatoon 2 I have compiled a list of things I want changed / added to the game.

The ability to pull faces / change pose at the start and end of a match.
As the camera shows the players in a match it would only make sense that we should be able to express ourselves.
Likewise people should be able to express joy or sorrow after they win / lose a match and the results are revealed.

We need a hair salon in the hub world and the ability to pick a static colour for use in the hub world.
More hair options would also be nice.
I also want Nintendo to stop gender locking hair styles.

Salmon Run needs to be 24/7.
People need more of a reason to keep playing Salmon Run, a way to do this is by allowing us to own Salmon Run weapons / gear.
If we own gear for Salmon Run that we can level up and pick at any time people will be more inclined to keep playing the mode.
I know that, personally if I could truly progress in Salmon Run and it was open 24/7 I would probably never play turf war, and I know I am not the only one.

People in the hub world just stand there, this needs to change.
Inklings should be crowding the DDR machine if a Kid is performing well.
No one visits the shops, how are they still open, surely I cannot be the only customer.
There are spots in the map that no one goes to, I should find Inklings hanging out there on occasion.

Socialising is important to people, we should be able to invite friends over to our hub to hang out in between matches when in a team.
I want to be able to pose for photos with other Inklings, to show off our gear.

We should be able to visit an area where players can ink a big white canvas with ink, the colour of their choice.
I want to be able paint a big floor, save the bird's eye view and post it online.

The hub needs a day/night cycle.

We should be able to take food ordered from Crusty Sean to the tables.

The mailbox is nice, I guess.
What would really be nice is the ability to go up to a wall and post from there by inking drawing on the wall.

More clothing options, pants should be separate pieces of clothing that can be bought.

People have been doing some really cool art, it would be nice to be able to be able to link to other people's works.
The ability to save their work to your system, post to twitter or repost in the plaza would be lovely.
Also, Nintendo give us the ability to add colour to our posts, and give us better tools.

Competition is good, people should be able to see how a post has been received by the community.
Stats such as how many people gave a post "Fresh!" or how popular the poster is among Inklings could become addicting.
The ability to follow artists would also help to create a community.

I have seen a few instances where a weapon or two has clipped through an Inkling during the results phase.

It would be nice to be able to replay the opening sequence again.

A skip button for the news.

I know most of these things don't have any real impact on the main game, but they do add to the presentation, community and feel.
What do you want added/changed in Splatoon 2?

Around the Network

I want to post drawings without the need of linking the Nintendo account to a social networc account. Aahh, I miss Miiverse.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Come join The 2018 Obscure Game Monthly Review Thread.

There's mainly two things I want...

1. Being able to Switch weapons in the lobby (At LEAST in Ranked). I main the Aerospray in Turf War and that's all I really use, but I alternate between 4-5 weapons in ranked. I want to see what my opponents have and also have the ability to switch when I feel it's most effective.

2. Being able to add slots to gear with Gold. I hate having to wait for Splatfests to get a significant amount of Super Sea Snails, and I think it would be easier pricing slots on a piece of gear. I like having a wide variety of 3 slot gear, and I would be more than happy to pay for it. If I want to get the full 3 slots on a 1 slot item, charge me 50,000 for the first one, and 75,000 for the second (and charge 62,500 for two slot gear).

I like Salmon Run, but it not being 24 hours doesn't hurt me too much. It would be great to have the option, but it isn't my utmost concern currently. Other than, even though I'm Team Marie, I want to see Callie when I beat the game. I don't get why she's still nowhere to be seen.

Have they fixed the stupid mode rotation system? (Ie. gotten rid of it?)

Add defensive and strength abilities back into the game.

Around the Network

Allow us to add friends directly in the game instead of making us go onto the OS and player history.

Please tell me you're joking.

Anyways I don't expect any of these to happen because Nintendo, but the fact they bothered to add a fast-forward button for Sheldon, but not for the news at the title screen still baffles me like crazy.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Yeah, it is pretty annoying, being forced to sit through the news.
It doesn't help that they take so long about it too.

They really need a shortcut at the title screen to jump straight into Turf War seeing that the Switch is a portable console.
Sometimes you only have 3 mins to play a game, Nintendo should cater to that use case.

Ive had a few ideas since Splatoon 1

-Local Co-op
The original game had an awful local co-op mode and Splatoon 2 only has a local wireless mode. But I think with the Switch has great potential for a local co-op Splatoon mode with split screen. Maybe not 4 players, but 2 players should be no problem.

-Octo Canyon
I have no idea why they decided to split the single player hub world into 5 different areas, but it just feels confined and clunky. Splatoon 1 had a nice open area that was all loaded at once so you could freely move between the hub. I would prefer to have that again.

-Free Mode/Practice Mode
think of it like private battles but with no time limit or knockouts. you could just mess around on whatever stage you want for however long you want. It would be a nice touch and not too hard to add into the game. It would also make out-of-bounds glitches a lot easier for players to find and experiment with.

-Salmon Run
only being open at certain times of day is something I can deal with, but weapon rentals is not. Being forced to use specific weapons during Salmon runs makes the new game mode unnecessarily frustrating. some days I pass on it entirely becuase the weapon choices pretty much all suck. Just let us use the weapons we already have.

-Arcade
Splatoon 1 had minigames that played when waiting in the lobby. I would love it if these came back and even improved. Fun fact: there was actually a scrapped concept for an 8-bit sidescrolling platformer arcade game that you can see a glimpse of in an early Splatoon trailer. that would be awesome to have as an extra game mode

Why is it such a bad thing to want those abilities back? lol I just don't understand.
