I disagree, this is clearly a reaction thread.

Didn't know that. But it seems like too much work since I go to threads that are on my buddy list or on the front page.

You only need to do it once. After that, it only takes one click to go to the forums. I don't see how that can be too much work.

Its too much work because it wont help me since i use the forums from the front page.

What, are you worried that no one will pay any attention to your threads if Politics are removed from the front of a gaming website?

Does this work for the front page?

It doesn't, which is why it's not exactly helpful to those that use the front page.

We could just remove hot topics from the front page. Then it works everywhere.

Just a suggestion.

You could start using the forums page from now on. You'll get used to it.

That was never the issue. The issue has always been that it's not a good look for a game sales tracking site to have non-gaming related topics on the front page for newcomers or non-registered users. It was never an issue of personal preference.

Well they aren't very up to date with tracking sales so that looks way worse in my opinion than a few political threads.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

VGC has very little competition in that space, so that doesn't look nearly as bad as people here make it out to be.

Hmm, this is very obviously a reaction to my thread.

Time to walk on them eggshells

Seriously though, it's clearly a reaction to your thread and honestly they could have simply follwoed their own advice by "ignoring" your own thread.
