Forums - Nintendo Discussion - In theory: Treasure Tracker 2 using the Odyssey engine, thoughts?

Don't care what engine they use, but would love a sequel.

I feel the treasure tracker is a great game for a portable handheld device. Such a good game for quick gaming sessions. You know right before bed, do a quick level. While at lunch, do a couple levels, ect.

But the first game was beautiful as well, so I imagine 2 would be equally as beautiful, thus still like the idea of putting it up on big screen at times.

I really liked the first one so I definitely wouldn't say no to a sequel, Odyssey engine or not.

As I'm a fan of crossovers I 'd love if they (assuming a sequel is in the pipeline) made bonus levels where Toad ends up in stages inspired by other Nintendo franchises.

I love Captain Toad TT so it will only make sense for a second one, but seeing how they dropped support for the WiiU, I have no intention on buying the Switch, at least not at the present price.

Not sure it's the type of game that really needs a sequel, unless they thought of something genuinely new to do with it.

More of the same is fine. You dont have to reinvent the wheel every damn time, if the gameplay is enjoyable.

Seems theres enough people that want a sequel, thats all the reason Nintendo should need.

Its actually one of the things I dislike about nintendo, it annouys me they do "changes for the sake of change alone".

Like there was nothing wrong with Paper Mario formula, and then they did drastic changes, genre changes, all for f*** knows why.

That old saying "if it aint broken, dont fix it" applies here I think.

Zero chance of happening.

The first game was alright for an original concept, but I would never touch it again. It had no replayability and Mummy Me Maze Forever was unforgivably pointless. The original did not sell that well so I doubt Nintendo would have a sequel in the works.

I wouldn't mind if they flat out reused 3D worlds engine for a sequel again. The Switches additional power would give them enough room to make an already gorgeous game absolutely breathtaking and if there's more adorable cube worlds to be explored and more trasures to be found, why not?

It sold much more than one million, and it was a game that was reusing assets from Super Mario World, which was a game that already had the whole concept of Captain Toad locked down....

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The original was fantastic, I'd welcome a sequel
