I'm not. There are forms of Japanese media that I enjoy but I don't really care much about the culture besides that. It's on my list of places I'd like to visit but it's not at the top of the list and I have no desire to live there.

"Weeaboo" is a good word, though. It's always useful when the ignorant shine a spotlight on themselves.

I've studied Japanese, lived there, read manga, watch anime, and enjoy games that also come from Japan, but I wouldn't call myself a weeaboo. And if you do, I don't care. I enjoy what I like xD I enjoy western stuff as well, so there's that.

Lived there? How was it like living in Japan while (I assume) not being Japanese.

People openly consider themselves a derogatory term?

Some probably do because they're different and that makes them awesome. I mean "otaku" is a derogatory term in Japan yet there are plenty otakus taking pride in the term.

I'm a pretty hardcore Nintendo fan and like a lot of Japanese made electronics, also Japan is like on my top 3 list of destinations I want to travel to.. Though I'm not really an anime, nor a Sony fan.. So maybe half Weeaboo?

I like A LOT of japanese stuff, and my first trip outside of the midwest was Japan. However there is still many flaws in Japan. Stuff like group mentality, racism, overworking, denial of WW2 atrocities, etc. just as there are many things wrong with my own country.

That otaku thing in Japan is not entirely true tbqh

What about it isn't true?

Just because some people use a derogatory term as a badge of honor doesn't make it not derogatory. In what scenarios is it not considered negative?

I watch anime sometimes and play japanese games but nobody has called me a weeb yet. Guess that's not enough...

You're not a weeb until you go shopping together with your waifu pillow.
