Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA could bring many more games to Switch if FIFA 18 performs well

Uhuuu....wich is why you're bringing a stripped down version of Fifa to the Switch right? Riiiiight?

I get that Nintendo has made it's bed with the third parties and now they have to lie in it, but as a consumer it's annoying to be constanstly told that it id my fault if I wont be able to purchase your games for my platform of choice.

So in other words, buy fifa for switch or this will be your last fifa game for the console.

Well, that's fair, and at least they're testing the waters with a new game of one of their biggest franchises instead of overpriced ports of old games like Capcom did.

Why FIFA? If that's the metric by which they want to decide if it's worth porting to the Switch, I guess we won't see any EA games on the Switch then.

Yeah, I mean, it's only their most popular game. It only sold 17 million copies total last year. That's more than Battlefield, Titanfall and Star Wars: Battlefront. That's more than the latest Need for Speed, Mass Effect, the Sims and Simcity -  combined.

You're right. They should have ported NBA Live instead.

Nothing unexpected. At least Fifa NS has some chance to do decent numbers. Unlike other "test games". Just maybe the NS port can sway EA to invest more.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

In fairness, the first FIFA game on any new platform is always stripped down.

Well we will see how much cares about this "Portability"

wait are you seriously saying you don't think FIFA Switch is going to sell a lot? especially in Europe? you are aware that there has never really been a handheld FIFA similar to home console level before right?

And if anything in Europe the population is pretty mobile (bike riding, walking). I would not be surprised if when all is said and done Fifa Switch does like 1 million sales in Europe (lifetime), as the install base grows for the Switch FIFA is going to be a popular buy

So you expect it to do 1 million in Europe alone?I would be very surprised.

But does the FIFA fanbase necessarily buy Battlefield and Star Wars games and vice versa? I can't see how a FIFA game is good test case for other titles, especially considering how specific its fanbase is.
