I've made this thread twice and have tried to make something else become popular on vgchartz :/

Both art and original music never carried on. It'd be nice if something else got traction on here

That's the thing, politics thread are popular because they users enjoy them, not only because they are on the front page. So I find this constant whining to be disgustingly selfish.

I agree

I kept seeing people say this is a gaming website if memory serves this is a SALES website, if we want to be fair shouldn't we ban everything that isn't sales related from the front page?

Personally I don't go anywhere but the front page (Usually). I like seeing all topics on the front page, for those that can't handle it they need to grow thicker skin. I would imagine new users would be drawn more to a website that is more than one dimensional. Just my 2 cents.

Filters are extremely important in today's world, as we all know people have become allergic to differing points of view.

I agree, please remove politics from the website entirely or at least give the option to hide them entirely.

This should have been said in the first page, but I don't recall anyone mentioning it. Since there are a lot of people that don't want non-gaming related in the front page and others who do, it's pretty evident that this option is extremely required right now. There's really no need to remove them entirely.

Personally, though, I frequently just ignore them and almost always look up for the gaming-related threads, doesn't even take 10 seconds.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Very well said sir.

Are you living in Turkey?! Just asking cause that's exactly how things are handled there.

When I go into a clothing store, it's to look at or buy cloths... not get a lap dance from a stripper. How hard is this to understand? This is a website dedicated to gaming and gaming sales... not politics. If I wanted politics, I'd go to a political site.

This is very simple stuff.

I'd bet Walmart gets more traffic than clothing specific stores and traffic is why we have a site at all.  If you go into Walmart to buy a shirt it doesn't mean you have to visit every section of the store.  I'd said it before this is a SALES sight if you want it to be extremely narrow all discussions that aren't sales need to go.  You do that and this site dies since sales aren't even regularly updated.  Is that simple enough for you? EDIT Sorry there was a little too much A-Hole in that last sentence. Sorry for being a turd sandwich.

In a sense I like the policital threads here as it's really my only place to vent when it comes to issues I'm passionate about. I kinda used to soap box a lot on facebook but have since backed off when I realized most of my friends just ignore me or argue with me anyway - even though I consider my arguments perfectly rational and reasonable, with little to nothing controversial in them. Guess being a classical liberal/libertarian type is considered crazy these days, at least from where I sit.. I also gotta watch what I say on Twitter as I'm followed by my editor and senior staff at the site I write for. Granted I put "opinions are my own" in the description but at the same time I don't want to sound like a crazy person lol. I also know virtually nobody in real life who I feel would want to hear my bs (or at least of whom I feel comfortable ranting my bs) because most either just aren't into politics or have drastically different views than me, not to mention I'm pretty shy and struggle to assert myself in real life. So it's nice to have this as a valve.

At the same time, I've seen Trump stuff ad nauseam and get negative Trump progaganda pounded into my head at just about every angle at almost an hourly basis every single day for the past two years. Frankly it's driving me a little nuts. So it'd be nice to have a place to kind of escape that. But what can ya do.. Just gotta learn to restain myself from clicking on topics that might annoy me or just flat out filter out political topics sometimes.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident - all men and women created by the, go-you know.. you know the thing!" - Joe Biden

I'll say it here.

Please please please stop using threads in Politics Discussion as an excuse to virtue signal. Thank you.

This plea goes out to anyone with any political beliefs, from fascism to communism, from anarchism to totalitarianism.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

You have the option to ignore them.

You don't have to comment on every thread. Some people DO care.

This is a gaming forum first and foremost.
If people are interested in those discussions they can always go to the subforum.
I, for one, am sick of consistently seeing Donald Trump or whatever on the front page almost every day.

I need to add, it's always the same people. Always the same bunch dragging down discussion to the dirt.

This.

It's a gaming forum primarily and that's what the site in general is for and about, not for Pol talks, not for clickbait Trump articles and the usual IS talk. I've been seeing more and more pol threads cropping up over time and they usually end up with some people banned in them.

You want pol threads?, go to the sub forum and keep it there.

Also yes, it is always the same people posting the same type of pol topics over and over and it's mostly used to drive some personal point home that serves no purpose.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Am I missing something? If you see a thread you're NOT interested in, just ignore it. It's not that difficult. Just comment on the ones you DO like.

You realize you're talking about censorship, right? Some people on this site DO care about these kinds of things. Let them comment on the threads, while you comment on whatever gaming related threads you like.

Easy peasy. Everyone's happy.
