That is what I just said. The recent evidence found in the latest datamine combined with everything else has made me a playable octoling believer again!

Octolings since they're very likely to become playable.

They were playable in the original version too

Octarians are honestly too cute to be too menacing, especially since Marina is one.

Salmonids are orc-like harbingers of the apocalypse, who've been resisted for countless generations. I suspect they are styled after Lovecraftian Deep Ones (a race of vicious but intelligent piscine beings with a sickly green motiff and golden artifacts? Never heard of that before).

The Salmonids remind me of this mofo

Think it's the fish eyes, red-dark colouring, and upright posture.

Those eyes...

He's seen things...

Unspeakable things...

I dislike all villains because they're villains.

I personally think Grizzco is the most villainous. We dont know who Mr. Grizz is since he never shows his face, and he runs a shady business having Inklings fight Salmonids and steal their eggs without ever explaining why.

The devs have stated that they use the eggs a fuel.

So, yeah.
They are stealing the eggs of another race and converting it into energy, pretty messed up.

As someone who is very against orcs, I agree with this statement.
Octolings are the obvious choice.

They had that same rumor in Splatoon 1, if there was ever a time to make them playable it would have been at the start of Splatoon 2, I get the feeling we are still a sequel away from playable Octolings, Marina is kicking the door down for them however.

Edit: On topic, Salmonids, because I have found more enjoyment in Salmon Run then the single player campaign of both games, despite single player having superb Boss fights a lot of the levels are meh.

He is the third game's villain I am sure

Just a guy who doesn't want to be bored. Also

From the Salmon run manual:

2.1.1 Chum, Smallfry and Cohock
...
They inhabit a restricted ocean zone, and any unauthorized contact with them is expressly forbidden by law.
...

2.3.6 Goldie Seeking
...
Salmonids obtained the technology to create Gushers through trade with Octarians.

So the Salmonids and Octarians engage in peaceful trade like civilized societies, while the Inklings practice Apartheid.
