... on Switch in Japan.

To be serious - so far it looks pretty well for third-parties in Japan. We heard good things about the sales of Bomberman, Street Fighter and Disgaea. And that while still many japanese can't find a Switch to purchase.

Hopefully this trend continues with DQXI and MHXX.

If everything goes well I expect that late this year the majority of new games from japanese devs will be announced for PS4/Switch, 3DS/Switch or PS4/Vita/Switch.

What do you think, will Switch bring money to japanese 3rd-parties?

I hope they get good sales. If Bomberman and Puyo Puyo reach the million worldwide before the year is over, it would be a great sign for the rest of the industry. Plus, I'm sure that we'll be getting a ton of japanese announcements after 2018 ends, when all japanese devs have gotten used to the Switch and either port everything they can or bring their new games.

Atluuus, bring Persona 5 to the Switch! We all know you want to make that port to have an excuse to bring the dance games to the Switch, just do iiiiit.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Hopefully the Western Third Parties will not ignore these numbers.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

It's different for western games though. We see not much yet, but I assume the late ports like Just Dance had not great numbers in comparison. I expect the new multiplat-games like FIFA to do a lot worse than on PS4.

Exclusive games (Mario+Rabbids) might be a different story, but they are not comparable. Western multiplats will do worse on Switch than on PS4.

Bomberman was above 500k on march! And the game had some sales on japanese eShop, and went back to the top on Europe some time ago, and it's on sale again! By vgchartz, it's selling ~10k per week. It's above 100k on Japan... Konami should release the numbers + digital...

For the Western, i would compare to Xbox's sales. Lots of multiplats so far it's selling better on Switch!

Yeah, comparisons to XB1 are also possible. I still doubt that for instance FIFA sells better on Switch than XB1. We'll see though.

Goes to show that Average Joe doesn't care which company makes which games - they just need to be good/appealing.

Average Joe probably doesn't know that it's EA who makes FIFA, for example.

I think it has the potential and Nintendo is changing their strategies... so I say - Yes!

Switch!!!

Yeah, what I mean is that Switch can actually sell 3rd-party-multiplats in similar amount to PS4 and XB1. That might happen for Japan.
