She wouldn't do that. There would literally be nothing to lose by just making up an excuse.

The only real reason is that something bad happened.

Do we know onionberry well enough to make that conclusion?

She did mention once she got mugged and beaten going home. So it's possible. 

That's something that I completely missed out on.

That was a random occurrence perpetrated by a stranger though. It happens in the city. That it happened once doesn't mean she's any more likely to have been assaulted again than anybody else.

I know her well enough to know that she wouldn't have left for something so trivial as either "bad poems", or even if somehow she had lost the card. She would've just come in and admitted it.

She's a very straightforward person. It literally goes against her personality to just disappear without a reason.

I'm concerned.

Well I'll retract my other statements then. I do hope she is OK. Hopefully also not a family tragedy. Many possibilities but hope none of them are bad. Time will tell. 

I still hope she just is on holiday and away from the net, or that she just decided to take all the time she needs to read the poems and decide the winner. Or maybe someone stole the GPU and she's doing extra  work to earn enough to buy another to not let competitors down.
