While I don't think it will be a megahit, I do think Prime 4 has the potential to be the best selling game in the series for many of the reasons already mentioned. (That is, as long as they don't drop the ball and make it a godawful abomination like Other M)

Switch's lineup is so far lacking in grittier, more serious experiences, and Prime 4 could fill that gap nicely, thus diversifying the system's lineup and offering something to appeal to the kind of gamers who wouldn't normally purchase a Nintendo system.

OM is not as bad as many of you try to make it out to be and funny enough that approach of Metroid has higher potential to do well compared to Prime tbh because the Prime games being FP are very limited compared to the creative freedom of the TP games, the Prime games aren't really that gritty either. Gameplay wise OM was actually good despite the flaws of the game the approach has more mechanical freedom so a refined execution of it along with building on the template has higher potential than what the Prime series can offer.

I don't see Prime 4 doing any better than the original Prime did tbh because people are more aware of the type of game it is and that it's not a Halo like shooter like they thought it was going to be back then, it requires a very specific taste even among so called core players to get into.

Other M was not good from a gameplay perspective at all, the controls were atrocious, the camera awkward, the pacing poor. It was a hodgepodge of bad design choices.

The controls were fine even when using the d-pad only gripe was the first person shooting and sure analogue would have been prefered, Camera was fine as well and pacing was like any other Metroid game, these are the exaggerations I'm talking about from people invested into just hating the game.

Having to change your grip to on the controller and go from NES-style to pointing at the screen just to use missiles is not fine. Camera not shifting when backtracking leaving player with very limited forward visibility is not fine. Other Metroid games don't grind the pace to a complete halt with pointless "walk slowly forwards" and "find the right pixel" sequences. These are all the hallmarks of objectively bad game design, and one does need to be invested in hating anything to recognize obvious flaws.

The camera part is BS mate I played through the game and the wasn't limited visibility throughout the game like you're painting so that's an outright lie sorry, the so called grind to a halt part only last a minute or so then things go back to normal the's like only one part where that is prolonged so no the aren't pacing issues like you claim so again the game is not as bad as some of you try to exaggerate, it's very playable and fun and it's clear some are invested into just hating the game.

The one being misleading here is you. You have an established history of defending Nintendo, and this is yet another instance of you doing so.

The one being misleading here is you. You have an established history of saying anything to defend Nintendo, and this is yet another instance of you doing so.

That's rich coming from someone with a recent history of over the top attempts to criticize like your BOTW will be cancelled on the Wii U despite being two weeks before launch notice how you never asked for your ban for losing that bet as well or your claim that you could run a company better than Nintendo. It's not that I defend them it's that a lot of the time your arguments so out of whack in an attempt to criticize the's only one response to them, time to get off being tilted.

You claim I'm trying to defend them yet I flat out ruled out Prime 4 making any significant difference in sales, yeah okay mate enjoy being on tilt.

When you have to reach back in time to a discussion that took place over half a year ago and has zero relevance to the topic at had, you're clearly reaching.

Other M has objectively flawed camera and control systems and numerous sequences of pace-killing forced walking and pixel hunting. If it were made by any other company you would not defend it.

Except I would defend it from another company I defended The Order when that got trashed by people as well as others, you being on tilt because I have a differing view is not my problem.

OM has a camera that follows you through play that aren't many cases of limited visibility like you claimed that's a lie, if you read the post you'd see I highlighted the first person parts as an issue the fact that you're baning on about the same thing I flat out pointed out as a problem highlights an agenda on your part to just rant your point through. The pace killing isn't even as bad as you claimed, what's even more laughable here is this is between two Nintendo games one of which I have played down yet you still go off on the typical you're defending them tantrum, it's not me reaching here it's you, I gave an example of the type of wavelength you're sometimes on.

Point being OM is an ok game with some flaws a view that is not uncommon yet here you are on tilt over it.

Ad hominem attacks are the hallmark of a weak argument.

The camera does not adjust when backtracking. Video proof, from 3:42. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bdy1VaD0gk
