Forums - Gaming Discussion - I did the dumbest thing yesterday...

So me and my brother were feeling nostalgic, so we decided to boot up the old N64. After playing some Goldeneye, we decided to switch to Banjo Kazooie. I started it up, and got to the file select screen. I noticed that we had played it for 52 hours back in the day, and I couldn't believe we spent all that time on it. Then out of nowhere, and  don't even know exactly what happened, I deleted the file. I deleted 52 hours of my childhood just like that. I was so mad/sad. I don't really feel like investing another 52 hours into that game, but I might give it a shot. Ok, that's all. Thanks for listening to my story.

That game is worth 52 hours of your life.

I know how it feels, it happened to me not long ago when playing Star Fox 64. I don't know how many hours I've invested into that game... getting all the medals was tedious (especially Sector Z and Katina...ugggh!)! So one time, I was curious to check out the "Erase Data" menu for the first time of my life, and I didn't want to press a wrong button while on the menu so I just pushed the "Reset" button. Last thing I knew was that all my save data was deleted!

I thought it wasn't that bad actually, got me back into Star Fox for a bit (and Assault was coming out very soon) and I got to experience the on-foot multiplayer action for the first time since I got the game! I'm guessing Banjo Kazooie 3 will be coming out this year or something? Might be a good time to start that file again! =P

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

I'm always deleting files after i've unlocked everything... on purpose though. I often find it more fun to reunlock everything then to learn things over again.

It's why it too me forever to finish RPGs when I was younger... i'd get halfway through, get a new game... play that... then when i got it back decide to start from the beggining again.

It's fun running through the game with maxed out gear, but sometimes you just want to go through it again fresh.

You know what is more infuriating?

One time, my mother invited one of her friends over and she brought along another kid, about the same age as my kid brother (who was in the 5th grade I believe while I was in the 8th grade). My brother and I decided to be nice to him, seeing as how he was my brother's classmate and all, so we decided to let him play our N64. We let him try playing the Rouge Squadron game. Me and my bro both shared a file that had completed all the levels and we had all gold medals. Took us about 50+ hours to do it. Then my bro and I left the room to listen to our mother. It was only 5 minutes. And in that time that little-good-for-nothing erased our file!!!He said it was a mistake....but from that day on, I knew he was trouble.....could never get all those medals back again.

And to think he actually did it AGAIN when we had the Rogue Squadron game for the Gamecube....we stopped communicating with him from that day on.

Ahh, game file horror stories...

I had about 90 Pokemon in my first Red version, and six badges (around 40-50 hours, not to mention the trading). I went out to play outside with one of my cousins, and let the other cousin start a new game ('without saving' she says.) When I go turn it on again, I had one badge, a Bulbasaur, Rattata and Pidgey.

/cry

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

I beat one of the FF games, can't remember which, COMPLETELY. I had done all the quests, beaten the story, gotten all the best weapons, all my characters to lv 99. Then, I decided to start another game and save it in a different slot. OOPS. I saved over all my hard work, and was left with about 30 minutes of work. I haven't played the game since. =(

I once accidentally deleted all the data from my Playstation memory card.

Every Final Fantasy, every Crash game, and T'ai Fu: Wrath of the Tiger?!!

The memories are horrible.

You know, if we are not careful enough, this thread will become a horror thread....with scary stories all revealed here.

Sorta reminds me with animal crossing wild world. I did everything in that game to collect a lot of money, I had a big virtual mansion with many big expensive items, I had worked months collecting fishes and bugs. I must have spent like 200 hours with the game. then after a Stupid mistake I did, I left my DS in the table where my little brother can reach. He turn it on and deleted all the memory from the game, after i saw what my little brother did, I was speechless and sad. all that hard work, collecting and making tons of money for nothing. after that I never went back to the game, I don't even feel like to.
