Forums - PC Discussion - Noctua fans, still the best

For people who haven't heard about the controversy:
Noctua the premium computer fan maker added a new, Chinese factory to their supply chain.
Someone on Reddit discovered that there was a slight colour and shape difference between the Chinese fans and the ones made in China.

Acording to GamersNexus it does not matter and performance is the same.

Rejoice.

As long as their thermal paste remains good as well, I am good

Noctua is my most trusted CPU cooling solution! (I use it to cool off my beast 6600K oc'd to 4.5GHz)

Fuck liquid cooling ... (I don't like the idea of solution potentially getting on my components.)

I paid a hundred bucks for their top tier and don't regret it ...

I love my NH D15, it cools well and is mostly silent.

Well, I won't really call them "the best", becuse there are a lot of good fans out there and their performance depends on what you do with them. Having sauid that, did someone really doubt about Noctua's quality? Fools.

Their fans are great, quiet, now are available in grey&black for those that complained about their "poo" color and, quite surprising nowadays, they still refuse to jump on the RGB wagon (a plus for me).

My NH-U12P has served me well for several years.

Liquid coolers are a valid option and puts a lot less stress on your motherboard. There are air coolers that weight over 1Kg, without fans.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

I kinda expect my expensive mainboard to be able to handle 1-2kg that's safely secured and distributes its weight over 4 screws.

I'm not afraid of water in my PC but it seems such a hassle for practically no gain over a big tower cooler.

For most of us, the weight of the cooler is not a problem. But for those that, for several reasons, move their PC often, it can be a cause of concern.

I haven't tried watercooling yet. I wanted to give it a go with my GPU as I'm more than fine with the Noctua for the CPU, both in temps and noise, but no one makes full blocks for the card I got, so I'll have to wait for my next one to try it :-/.

Hell yeah.

I have almost $400 worth of Noctua fans in my main rig alone.

...You could say I am a fan.
