Since I didn't buy a Wii U, I wanted to get Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as it comes with all the DLC.

By the way, is it Oceanhorn or Oceanborn? I saw both names in this thread and not sure which one is the typo.

I'm not sure about SMT V, do you know how similar is it to Devil Survivor 2? I had that game on the 3DS and I found it ok.

I might give it a shot given the low price.

Oh right, I forgot about that. I think I might stick to the Etrian Oddysey Untold line, having a story really made a difference for me, as it gave me an urge to get to the next part.

Yeah that's the one thing the main series was lacking. There was a story, but it was hidden in the background and the lore. Kind of like how Dark Souls hides it's story in the item descriptions. SMTIV is a game you might want to check out. It has a story mode and plays about the same as the EO series.

Zelda, Splatoon, & Arms, if you would like their style, in my opinion the best 3 games till now

The obvious first party Nintendo stuff but I also recommend fast rmx, disgaea 5, Wonderboy and I am setsuna

Zelda and Splatoon 2 are the big ones for me right now. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe if you didn't play the Wii U version. Haven't played it but based off what I've heard of the game, you might like Setsuna based off your preferences.

More minor (but still good) Switch games: Puyo Puyo Tetris, Fast RMX, Has Been Heroes, Fast RMX, NBA Playgrounds

Shovel Knight and World of Goo are oldies but goldies, I highly recommend them if you haven't played them yet.

Since you're playing Etrian Odyssey, I feel like you like a good challenge, so Has-Been Heroes might be right for you.

Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, I Am Setsuna and Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star might be right for you too

I'm pretty sure Devil Survivor 2 is like Persona or something? Like how Persona Q is like Etrian Odyssey, and Tokyo Mirage is like Persona, etc. Pretty sure SMT is completey different

Ah, if SMT on Switch is anything like EO then I might just give it a shot when it comes out.

I'm not sure about Yooka Laylee. From what I've heard it's really similar to Banjo Kazooie, and since I never played that before I'm afraid I don't have nostalgia to help me enjoy Yooka Laylee.

I might borrow Arms from a friend to try out first before deciding whether to buy or not.

I've already put in some time into Disgaea 5 and I found it quite fun already! I'll probably try out more Mario Kart before I decide whether Fast RMX is for me.

I've never been that big on sports games, maybe if I get more friends to play with me on Switch I'll consider NBA Playgrounds as it does look fun when playing with friends.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst definitely seems like a good platformer from YouTube footage, so I'll check it out when I have time. I haven't looked at Blaster Master Zero that closely though so I'll have to watch some footage before I decide, and the same goes for Wonder Boy.

I already have Shovel Knight on 3DS, since it comes with all the DLC I'm probably not gonna double dip for the Switch.

Has Been Heroes caught my eye back when it was revealed, but it slipped my mind for some reason. I'm probably getting it once I finish some of my current games.

I don't know about Fate/Extella though, the only bit of lore I know from the Fate series is from Fate/Kaleid aka the loli magical girl anime, which I'm pretty sure has nothing to do with this game. But now that you mentioned Fate, I also remember that Touhou is also getting games on the Switch. Since I do like Touhou I'll probably keep an eye out for that.

I guess I'll check out footage and trailers before it releases to make up my mind. I'll look at Oceanhorn more closely when I get back, but from the screenshots it looks interesting.

Haha, ok then. If SMT is like either Devil Survivor or EO then I'm probably down for that game. The previous titles aren't necessary to enjoy the series right? Do the SMT games share more than just game mechanics (if even that), for example the lore?
