That's the essence of evil. Murder, rape, any other atrocities, are onlt the result of circumstance, poor judgment and terrible character - we cannot judge the first two, so we must judge the last. And if we do, we must do so in all circumstances.

These situations just highlisht how arbitrary the lines between action and inaction really are. She made a conscious decision, which, with little other purpose, brought to the premature death of another - that's murder.

In Brazil as far as I know convincing someone to commit suicide is a crime as well, so if the person in case really pushed the person to suicide she deserves a conviction... and 15 months were very light.

And anyone thinking she need more of a hospital to threat her than a prison, the other guy also needed a treatment and she helped he not getting it, so no pity for her.

a healthy person would do anything to help him change his mind or send him to a doctor, she could just let him be and still save his life

she deserves the sentence

This is the primary key to why she was sentenced at all.  It's evident that he was very unsure about doing the act.  Even if she hated him or wanted him dead, she could have easily just told him to f off.  Instead she made a conscious decision to make him go through with it.  She prayed on his mental instability.  I person see it as murder since it appears there was a clear case where the person was unsure of their decision and she made a clear decision to make sure he carried out the act.

It was still his choice. I don't know their history or either of them so I'm trying to be as objective as possible over it. Isn't there couples pushing for legal suicide? That's what makes this sort of thing complicated in my opinion.

Except he wasn't in a state of mind that would have allowed him to make that decision. And last I checked, suicide isn't legal in any capacity in America.

15 months, that's all? If this was just some stranger telling him to kill himself it wouldn't be a big deal. When it's your significant other, someone you share mind body and soul with, their words have a substantially larger impact. She was indirectly responsible for his suicide and 15 months ain't enough time.

She didn't just talk him into it. She encouraged and pushed over and over even when he was reluctant she would continue to tell him to do it. Definitely need to be locked away.
