Like is this crazy to anyone else? I would never encourage it, but to put someone in jail or prison is crazy. To me she just sounds like a terrible person with no character.

She deserves much more time. What a scumbag.

I disagree with them putting her in prison for her words in general and for how long they gave her. That could set a nasty precedent.

Edited. The last time I saw a story on this, it was saying that she was gonna get 20 years and that what I thought the title so I marked out the part of my post.

Aeolus451: right.. thats like someone saying "go kill yourself" (or what they really mean is "**** off") and they kill themselves leading to their arrest. I know thats not the case, but its terrible that words can put you in jail

She deserves every bit of this. Bullying / cyber bullying / etc keeps getting worse and worse. This is where it always peaks at is when someone dies. These people need precedent set to be liable in some fashion. In her situation, she is directly liable for his death.

Thankfully I grew up confident and not in a situation where I was bullied and myself never felt the urge to be an asshole like that to others. But I do worry about my own children and as such I monitor their social lives and we have lots of discussions about issues in their lives. You need to keep parent lines open so they always have someone to talk to. You also need to be willing to get your hands dirty if necessary to protect them, not just words, action.

It really doesn't. You're already not allowed to incite harm on others with words. Ie Manson Murders. 

People saying that she doesn't deserve the time are crazy. i don't think there's anything wrong with being neutral to suicide, or even allowing someone to go through with it. But encouraging that? Fuck her. Leave suicidal people to their own thouggts to make tge decision thats right for them!

I can't see the justification for any jail time. I don't see who it benefits. She needs mental help. Maybe institutionalization.
