Why that might be true one would still be kinda stupid to buy a non 4K TV in 2017. It's also quite a special case.

What is boost mode? Are the loading times confirmed to be faster and why? |
"Boost Mode is a feature that is available on PlayStation 4 Pro systems which have system software version 4.50 or higher. Turning on boost mode may improve the frame rate of some PS4 games that were released before the introduction of PS4 Pro on November 10, 2016."

The PS4 Pro has a faster CPU so loading times are shorter (not by much, btw). The Pro also supports SATA III (I read that this makes a huge difference in loading times for those that have SATA III compatible SSD).
I votes YES
I think new owners who are planning to buy a ps4 should always get the Pro for people who want to upgrade its a different story and really depends on if the ps4 is your main platform and how much you use it.
I didn't get the pro because I play more on PC but if I didn't have a ps4 and had to pick one up now it would be the PRO

Exactly. It's not just the extra CPU, the Pro has a SATA 3 interface which immensely improves performance with faster drives like hybrid drives or SSDs. It also means it's much more future proof which imho accounts for the whole console.

Well I think boost mode has pushed me over the fence to get one. Plus I thought about it, and my television's upscaler is pretty crappy when going from anything below 1440p to 4k.

As we stated in the other thread already....it's pretty obvious you don't own a 4K TV so your opinion doesnt really relate to the guy's situation. |
"It's pretty obvious" lul
I do own a 4k TV... I can send you pictures of it if you want when I get home
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
Most owners of anything (not just PS4) will always say yes because psychology says so. If a person says no, most of the time, it means (in their minds) they're poor at making sound decisions or they're stupid etc. Insecurities brought on from childhood, originating from parental or peer based interactions drive these sorts of illogical thought processes.
It takes a certain person to be able to admit they're wrong and/or made a bad choice and there's not many of those people walking around.

That first sentence doesn't make any sense considering the rest of your statement.
No, it's perfectly clear...if one has just a 1080p TV Pro's boost in performance or image quality might be debatable. If one does have a 4K TV it is not. The guy never stated he had one, he just said he didn't notice enough of a difference to value the 100$ more. So where did I accuse anyone of lying?! No one and I mean no one would question the extra value if he would have seen let's say Horizon in 4K and HDR. And no, that's not debatable. Do you own a 4K TV?! Have you seen how a normal HD output looks on a 4K TV?! |
You accused me of lying several times... and yes horizon looks better, but it isn't some amazing difference. You make it sound like such a dramatic difference when in reality it is just a subtle difference.
for a first time buyer that has a large 4K tv (I'd say 60" or higher) then a PS4 pro is worth it. If you already have a PS4 or your 4K tv is smaller than that then it is not worth it.
I have a 43" 4K HDR TV, and it was worth it.
My eyes must be better than gergroy's...

Either gergroy is a pathological liar or you are biased. |
Indeed. One has to be biased to notice the difference in picture quality from one resolution to another. smh
