Get a PS4 Pro?

I am getting a PS4 very soon, but still don't know if I want to get a PS4 Pro or not. I have a 4k television, and I am an image quality whore, but I am worried that not enough games I am interested in support the pro's better hardware to warrant an extra $100 and it seems as if the majority of games don't support true 4k? I could probably spend that money on an SSD or two games for the console instead. Looking at the list of enhanced games here  : I am interested in Ratchet & Clank, Horizon Zero Dawn, Final Fantasy XV, The Last Guardian, Nioh, and God of War. Do you think that the PS4 Pro felt worth it when you played these games in their enhanced vs. standard versions? Anything that is multiplat I'd rather play on PC, by the way.

"I have a 4k television, and I am an image quality whore"

Well it seems like the answer for you is a clear yes. If there isn't enough games that support pro you're interested in atm, there's always future titles. TLOU 2, Spider-man, most titles going forward will support pro.

I wouldn't recommend a Pro to anyone with a 1080p set as I have, but when I do upgrade to a 4k set I'll be glad I have the Pro.

Tagging.

from what i understand Horizon has a fantastic 4K mode on Pro. i am sure GoW will have one as well. if you care about image quality a lot, have a 4K tv and price isnt an issue youd probably be better off with the Pro.

personally i am fine with a PS4 and feel no need to upgrade. but if i had a 4K and wanted to buy a PS4 id probably go for the Pro

For me yes, totally worth it.

Yes, of course. Especially with a 4K and HDR 10-bit TV. Just pop in Horizon Zero Dawn after you get it and bring some kleenex.

True 4K isn't important as as developer results ... (if console graphics programmers can make use of this 'ID buffer' hardware feature on the Pro to minimize reprojection error then there's no reason to object the image quality)

Forget the SSD since there isn't a huge advantage in loading times on most games and go for the Pro if you were planning on spending it for the SSD ...

There's more potential than just image quality such as performance ... (I think GoW might potentially be 1080p30fps on stock PS4 compared to 1080p60fps on the Pro)

I'm getting the Pro TODAY! :P

As I always say in these threads: If you have to ask then it's definitely not worth to you.

There are 2 groups the PS4 Pro is for. People with too much money and people who want the best performance, graphics possible. Since you have to ask you obviously don't belong in either group.

Checkerboard upscaling should still improve image quality, even though it's not native 4k. Of course native 4k would be better, but there's still some improvement. As far as I know, Pro can also improve other visual aspects of games, such as framerate (The Last Guardian is an excellent example of this, I believe). Whether Pro is worth the extra cost for you probably depends on how much you value those improvements.
