Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So Far, Nintendo's Arms Does Not Have Legs - What?

People seem to forget that the 1.18 million figure is physical units shipped and digital units sold.
In other words, we don't actually know physical sell-through for regions where sell-though sales figures are not provided.

Kotaku is still trash at their jobs, though.

"Arms sold 1.18 million copies between its June release and late July. "

This sentence is all you need to khow about much effort kotaku put into making this article.

Yeah, doesn't that figure (1.18m) only includes the last 2 weeks of June? O.o

Exactly

Well, you can't expect a game called Arms to have legs...

Not sure if anyone'll get the reference

Kotaku needs some of that delicious ad-money. I can't imagine much, if any, critical thought went into the making of this article

It's selling well for a fighting game. SFV has only projected for 2 million it's first few months but a year later it's only at 1.7 million. ARMS sold nearly that in 2 weeks.  I'd say it's selling fairly well. Zelda only needed to sell 2 million to make money. ARMS sold over a million in 14 days then I'd say Nintendo is happy with ARMS sales.

It's already beaten several people's lifetime expectations for the title, on this site, and will likely go beyond the expectations of most.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Arms moved more copies than LoZ in Japan last week and is still in the top 10 over 5 weeks from launch. It outsold Tekken by a wide margin.

I think we all know that this game wouldn't have even registered with the average gamer if it hadn't been one of the very few new Switch launch window titles. Common sense tells us that it will not have great legs.

Its been selling consistently well in Japan, that much is true.

For a brand new IP on a console that's not even 6 months old yet, it's doing just fine. Now that Splatoon 2 is out and more games on the way like Mario + Rabbids, the game is going to have alot more competition at retail. Nintendo should shave off $20 from this game in about a month or so, especially once Mario Odyssey hits, because nobody is going to pay full MSRP for ARMS come the holiday season.

Agree, seems Arms is selling pretty well. Considering it is a new IP its not gonna have monster legs (unless it had been a smash hit which i don't think anybody thought it would be). Agree 100% they need to chop $20 off this game by Christmas. No way I'd buy Arms for $60, though I happen to be in a personal game drought on the Switch at some point next year I'd pick it up for say $30.
